Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, continues its 2018-19 season with Nina Simone: Four Women, written by Christina Ham and directed by Kenneth L. Roberson. Nina Simone: Four Women runs January 24 - March 2, 2019 at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie. The press opening is scheduled for Friday, February 1, 2019 at 8pm.

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble proudly announces the first two shows of its 2019 Season including the Midwest Premieres of I Wanna F**king Tear You Apart by Morgan Gould and directed by Jessica Fisch and Something Clean by Selina Fillinger and directed by Lauren Shouse. Something Clean is a co-production with Sideshow Theatre and will be performed at the Victory Gardens Richard Christiansen Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue in Chicago. Sideshow Theatre Company is pleased to announce its 2018-19 Season, launching this fall with the world premiere of J. Nicole Brooks' dazzling new play HeLa, directed by artistic director Jonathan L. Green and presented in partnership with the Greenhouse Theater Center.

Never before have audiences responded with such startling enthusiasm and thunderous applause to a Nashville Repertory Theatre opening night - at least in my memory and I've been reviewing shows at the Rep for 30 years now - than what I witnessed last night as Avenue Q kicked off the company's 2018-19 season in astonishingly irreverent style. Theater historians would have a hard time finding a production in which Nashville Rep audiences had a better time celebrating diversity and internet porn while watching two puppets have unbridled and unrestrained sex even if they lack some of the parts necessary to consummate the act.

The nominations have been announced for the 2018 Equity Joseph Jefferson ('Jeff') Awards.

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble (RTE), Chicago's only Equity theatre dedicated to producing new work with women at the core will add four performances to the run The Cake by Bekah Brunstetter, directed by Lauren Shouse, and featuring RTE Founders Tara Mallen and Keith Kupferer, RTE Member Krystel McNeil, with Tuckie White.  Eight performances have been added to the run, which must close June 2, 2018 at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago.

The press performance is Friday, September 22 at 8:00pm.

Evans, announces casting for the full 2017-2018 season, which includes The Legend of Georgia McBride by Matthew Lopez, The Book of Will by Lauren Gunderson, Skeleton Crew by Dominique Morisseau, The Beauty Queen of Leenane by Martin McDonagh and Cry It Out by Molly Smith Metzler.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces the addition of Cry It Out, written by Molly Smith Metzler, to close its 43rd season, May 10 - June 17, 2018. The previously announced The Legend of Georgia McBride, directed by Lauren Shouse, has been re-scheduled to open the season, playing September 14 - October 22, 2017, replacing Bruce Graham's Sanctions. 

The final production of Raven Theatre Company's 2017-18 season will be Tennessee Williams' stark and poetic Suddenly, Last Summer.
