Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, concludes its 2014/15 Season with Be More Chill, a new musical with music and lyrics by Joe Iconis and book by Joe Tracz, based on the acclaimed 2004 novel by Ned Vizzini. The production is directed by Stephen Brackett, with orchestrations by Charlie Rosen, music direction by Nathan Dame, and choreography by Chase Brock. David Alan Thornton presents a staged reading of his original musical Little Bitters Monday, September 15 at the Galway Pub. Can you love someone else if you've lost yourself? Little Bitters seeks to answer the question as it follows the up-by-his-bootstraps romantic Mikey, the bitchier-than-thou ex-Jazz-singer Pearl, and the young mother Liz: all trapped behind the service aprons of their local bar. One by one, they discover the small beautiful things in their lives that may- or may not- make them worth the living. With fresh style and a classic charge, Little Bitters highlights the hopes, abuse, selfishness, and victories that live in us all.
