Sharon Bush, Philanthropist & Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Teddy Share, Arianna Huffington, Chair, President & Editor-in-Chief of the Huffington Post Media Group, and Joan Vail Thorne, playwright and director, were Women's Project Theater's 2014 Women of Achievement, who were inducted at its 29th Annual Gala Celebration at the Mandarin Oriental, 80 Columbus Circle, on Monday, March 10. Veanne Cox and Doug Wamble lead a musical tribute to lyricist Dorothy Fields. Also on hand throughout the evening were presenters David Hyde Pierce and Stanley Zareff. Check out a look back below!

The improbable 90-year history of New York City Center, the Moorish Revival theater on West 55th Street that is home to Fall for Dance and Encores!, is the inspiration for Women's Project Theater's second production of the season. The Architecture of Becoming is the creation of five playwrights and three directors who have intertwined secret societies, silent films, raucous parties, and the greatest performers of our time with five fictional lives woven through the dynamic history of this great landmark.

The Drama League opened it doors at their new space on May 23rd with a ribbon cutting hosted by Judith Light. The focal point of The DramaLeague Theater Center is the Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley Studio Lab, a brand-new laboratory/development space for theater artists to create and hone work for future productions. It will also act as a flexible multi-purpose space for a variety of programming including educational opportunities, audience-focused series and special events. This will allow the Drama League to better serve the entire New York theater community - directors, audience, playwrights and actors. The Drama League Theater Center will offer artist residencies, play readings, open rehearsals, developmental workshops, lectures, classes, seminars, discussions, conferences, theatre-focused social gatherings and more.

Woodshed Collective will present the world premiere of The Confidence Man, conceived by Woodshed Collective, written by Paul Cohen (winner of the 2008 NYCFringe best playwright award), and inspired by Herman Melville's1857 novel about a riverboat con man, beginning Tuesday, September 1 and playing free to the public on the ship Lilac, a decommissioned U.S. Coast Guard vessel docked on the north side of Pier 40, at the intersection of West and Houston streets on the Hudson River.
