Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. The Boston Pops has been winning the affection of audiences in Boston and beyond for 131 seasons with programs like The Golden Age of Broadway and featured performers Marin Mazzie, Jason Danieley, Laura Osnes, and Justin Hopkins. Keith Lockhart was on the podium and Lidiya Yankovskaya was Guest Chorus Conductor with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.

Cumberland County Playhouse starts the summer with a splash as Disney's The Little Mermaid opens on tonight! Based on Hans Christian Andersen's timeless tale, Disney's The Little Mermaid is a family musical that features classic songs: "Part of Your World," "Kiss the Girl," and the Academy Award-winning "Under the Sea."

THE 70TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS, aired live from the Beacon Theatre, last night, June 12 on the CBS Television Network. The Tony Awards has announced the star-studded team that will bring Broadway fans across the world exclusive content live from the red carpet and behind-the-scenes at this year's Tony Awards. The American Theatre Wing's 70th Annual Tony Awards - hosted by Tony Award winner James Corden - will air on the CBS Television Network on Sunday, June 12, 2016 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) live from the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

Producer/Directors Tom and Michael D'Angora were welcomed American Idol and Hairspray alum Diana Degarmo to The Marvelous Wonderettes, whose official opening was Thursday, June 2nd.  For her opening night performance, DeGarmo was joined onstage with a surprise cameo from her husband, former Idol alum and star of Broadway's Hair, Ace Young, as the audience participant, Mr Lee.  The show celebrated with friends and Broadway stars afterwards at Oovina Latin Kitchen and Wine Bar.

On Monday, June 6, the Theater People podcast welcomes Tony nominee Jennifer Damiano. She made her Broadway debut at the age of 15 in the groundbreaking and Tony Award-winning musical SPRING AWAKENING. She went on to originate the role of Natalie in the Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt musical NEXT TO NORMAL, for which she earned a Tony Award nomination.

Just last night, Drama Desk Award winner Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar, 'Ugly Betty') hosted the 61st Annual Drama Desk Awards last night, June 5, 2016 at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street). BroadwayWorld brings you photos from the red carpet arrivals below!
