Good morning, BroadwayWorld! Today's big news: The 2017 Theatre World Awards ceremony takes place at the Imperial Theatre tonight!

The 62nd Annual Drama Desk Awards, hosted by Michael Urie, were held at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street) tonight, June 4th.

Yesterday was Saturday, and that means it's time for what has become one of the theatre community's most beloved traditions- BroadwayWorld's 'Saturday Intermission Pics' roundup! This week BANDSTAND star Laura Osnes got a lesson in drumming alongside her coffee, and THE BODYGUARD's Deborah Cox took a moment during the 200th show to explain how SIP works. Performances begin TONIGHT for the New York premiere of Attack of the Elvis Impersonators, the zany new musical that will leave you howling for more, with book, music and lyrics by Lory Lazarus, at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th & 10th Avenues). Opening Night is Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 8:00 p.m.

The touring production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's CINDERELLA is a magical showcase of the new Broadway adaptation, filled with whimsy and lush beauty.

Just yesterday, star of Dear Evan Hansen, Ben Platt, joined the fabled walls of Sardi's... or at least his new portrait did. BroadwayWorld was on hand as Platt and some of his Broadway family celebrated the big day!

He will be on hand to cover the event live on Twitter and on Instagram bringing fans both exclusive backstage access and a unique perspective on all that's happening on stage and in the audience this year.

The producers of Bandstand have launched 'Band Together-The Broadway Veteran Project,' a sponsorship program allowing United States military veterans access to sponsored tickets to the brand new musical directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner and 2017 Tony Award nominee Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton) with music by Richard Oberacker and a book and lyrics by Robert Taylor and Richard Oberacker.

Just last night, Manhattan Theatre Club presented its annual Spring Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street (110 East 42nd Street) honoring Matthew C. Blank, Chairman of Showtime Networks Inc. This year's Gala was hosted by Emmy and Tony Award winner Mandy Patinkin and featured performances by many of the most acclaimed musicals on Broadway including Bandstand; A Bronx Tale; Come From Away; Dear Evan Hansen; Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812; Sunset Boulevard; and a sneak peek of Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming production of Prince of Broadway.

On Tuesday, May 23rd the Theater People podcast welcomes Tony winner and Broadway legend Betty Buckley. For the episode, Buckley shares hilarious and fascinating stories from her nearly five decades as a Broadway and West End star. She also shares cuts from her new album STORY SONGS.

BroadwayCon is pleased to announce that Adam Chanler-Berat, Ann Harada, Emma Hunton, and Anthony Rosenthal have joined the Special Guest lineup for BroadwayCon 2018. BroadwayCon will return to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center Friday, January 26 through Sunday, January 28, 2018.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today the 2016-2017 Triple Threat Award finalists recognized for their accomplishments and community leadership while participating in the Trust's Spotlight Education program. The winners will be announced at the 12th annual Spotlight Showcase June 12-13 at the historic State Theatre (805 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis).
