On Monday, May 30, 2011, New York Theatre Barn will present its monthly platform, now in its 4th year, for emerging musical theatre writers at the D-Lounge (at the Daryl Roth Theater). Featured writers for the May 2011 installment include Riley Thomas and Jonathan Larson Award winner Mike Pettry (The Time Traveler's Convention). Performers for the evening include Alex Brightman (Wicked), Carrie Manolakos (Mama Mia, Things to Ruin), Lorinda Lisitza (Triumphant Baby, ReWrite), Lauren Marcus (ReWrite), Jeremy Morse (Bloodsong of Love), Jason 'SweetTooth' Williams (Bloodsong of Love, Things To Ruin), Jenny Donoghue, Raelyn Hennessee, Jared Miller, Anthea Neri, Riley Thomas, and Miranda Whaley. Executive Producers for NYTB in the D-Lounge are Laura Brandel and Karen Marshall.

Julie Larson, the sister of the award-winning composer of 'Rent' Jonathan Larson, took her 16 year old son to see Speargrove Presents.

New York Theatre Barn presents Bailey Hanks and Briana Carlson-Goodman in Speargrove Presents- a new musical based on actual events. With direction by Joe Barros & Laura Brandel the production will celebrate New York Theatre Barn's 3rd Anniversary with this special one-night only benefit. Speargrove Presents will take place on April 5 at 8 PM at the Julia Miles Theatre. Speargrove Presents is the product of UNTITLED 4: Project Collaboration.

'Speargrove Presents', an original musical based on a famous incident in Texas that made headlines nationwide, will have its world premiere on Monday, April 5th under the aegis of the New York Theatre Barn', announced Executive Director Reed Prescott.
