Public Theater to Present Three Screenings for THE WALLACE SHAWN-ANDRE GREGORY PROJECT, 8/3-4

The Public Theater and Theatre for a New Audience will present three special screenings of Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory's most beloved films, Andre Gregory: Before and After Dinner, Vanya on 42nd Street, and My Dinner With Andre, at Joe's Pub at The Public in August. These three screenings are presented as part of the current retrospective, The Wallace Shawn-Andre Gregory Project, celebrating the 40-year collaboration between these two artists.

The Public's THE DESIGNATED MOURNER Announces Ticket Lottery; Begins Tonight

The Public Theater and Theatre for a New Audience Present THE DESIGNATED MOURNER, written by Wallace Shawn and directed by Andre Gregory. Featuring Deborah Eisenberg, Larry Pine, and Wallace Shawn, the production begins tonight, June 21 and runs through August 25, 2013. The show just announced its $20 ticket lottery on the day of each performance.

Public Theater: Deborah Eisenberg to Star in DESIGNATED MOURNER, 7/14; Jennifer Tilly to Lead GRASSES OF A THOUSAND COLORS in October

Theatre for a New Audience (Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director, Dorothy Ryan, Managing Director and Henry Christensen III, Chairman of the Board) and The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham) will present The Wallace Shawn - Andre Gregory Project beginning with the first New York revival of the acclaimed 1996 masterwork The Designated Mourner by Wallace Shawn, directed by Andre Gregory, and featuring Deborah Eisenberg, Larry Pine and Mr. Shawn. The Designated Mourner begins previews Friday, June 21 at 7:00pm for an opening Sunday, July 14 at 7:00pm and a run through August 25.

Soho Rep has announced that the celebrated stage and screen actor Larry Pine will star in the world premiere production of Lucas Hnath's adrenaline-charged odyssey A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About the Death of Walt Disney. Directed by Soho Rep Artistic Director Sarah Benson, Pine will play the title character - the man who forever changed the American Dream. Hnath's fictional play centers around the reading of a screenplay Walt Disney has written about his last days on earth. The script is about a city he is going to build that is going to change the world; about his brother; about everyone who loves Disney and how sad they are going to be when he is gone.

Soho Rep's A PUBLIC READING OF AN UNPRODUCED SCREENPLAY ABOUT THE DEATH OF WALT DISNEY Will Feature Larry Pine, Amanda Quaid and More

Soho Rep has announced casting and an official opening date for the world premiere of Lucas Hnath's play A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About the Death of Walt Disney. Soho Rep Artistic Director Sarah Benson will direct an ensemble including Larry Pine (The Royal Family, The Seagull, Wes Anderson's films and "House of Cards") as Walt Disney, Amanda Quaid (C-ck, Luck of the Irish) as Daughter, Brian Sgambati (Merchant of Venice with Al Pacino, The Coasts of Utopia) as Ron Miller, and Frank Wood (Clybourne Park, Angels in America) as Roy Disney. Produced in association with John Adrian Selzer, the production, which concludes Soho Rep's highly successful 2012-13 season, will run April 30 - May 26 at Soho Rep (46 Walker Street). Critics are welcome as of Tuesday, May 7 for an opening on Thursday, May 9.

Public Theater Announces 2013-14 Season; Jeanine Tesori's FUN HOME Musical, Richard Nelson's REGULAR SINGING Included in Line-Up!

Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham announced the line-up today for The Public's 2013-2014 season, continuing the theater's nearly 60 year tradition of producing Shakespeare and the classics, musicals, contemporary and experimental works in equal measure while engaging a wide range of audiences and artists at its six downtown theaters at Astor Place, including Joe's Pub, as well as the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The Public's 58th season will also celebrate the 10th anniversary of the acclaimed Under the Radar Festival and the 15th anniversary of the world-renowned Joe's Pub. 'This season - whether classics, new plays, musicals or experimental ensembles - speaks to the way we live now,' said Artistic Director Oskar Eustis. 'We will bring you the triumphant return (and climax) of Richard Nelson's Apply Family Plays, the heartbreaking and gorgeous new musical Fun Home, and Tarell Alvin McCraney's thrilling Antony & Cleopatra, in a collaboration between England and America's leading Shakespeare companies. We are deeply proud of the range and depth of the work of these remarkable artists and are delighted to add them to the rich history of The Public Theater.'

Page 73 Productions Will Present Four Plays as Part of Page 2 Workshop

Page 73 Productions, an Off-Broadway theatre company dedicated to developing and presenting works by early-career playwrights, will support the development of four new plays by playwrights Mary Hamilton, Kait Kerrigan, Kimber Lee, and Cori Thomas as part of their 2013 Page 2 Workshop, it has been announced by Liz Jones and Asher Richelli, Co-Executive Directors of Page 73 Productions.

The celebrated stage and film actor Larry Pine stars in Mr. LaBute's play LOVELY HEAD, directed by Mr. Calvani. The Oscar winning actress and four-time Tony nominee Estelle Parsons stars in Mr. Calvani's play THINGS OF THIS WORLD directed by Mr. LaBute.

Founded in 1979 by its artistic director Jeffrey Horowitz, Theatre for a New Audience is a modern classical theatre that produces Shakespeare alongside other major authors in a dialogue that spans centuries. Its 33rd season, the last before moving to its first home adjacent to BAM in the new Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District, features boldly diverse works from William Shakespeare, Franz Kafka in a theatrical adaptation by Colin Teevan, Samuel Beckett and Wallace Shawn. In a co-production with The Public Theater, Mr. Shawn's plays will be part of The Wallace Shaw-Andre Gregory Project.
