The York Theatre Company has announced the roster of performers at the 28th Oscar Hammerstein Award Gala who will honor 2019 Tony Award winner André De Shields (Hadestown) with the 2019 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre and producer Riki Kane Larimer (Cagney) with The York Theatre Company Founders' Award on Monday evening, November 11, 2019 at The Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street).
Tony nominee Tom Hewitt has joined the lineup for The Rocky Horror Skivvies Show! He joins other guests Eden Espinosa, Nick Adams, Krysta Rodriguez, Nathan Lee Graham, Lesli Margherita, Natalie Joy Johnson, Marissa Rosen, Larry Owens, Gabrielle McClinton, Sutton Lee Seymour, Rob Morrison, and Amy Hillner Larsen.

Today the New York Comedy Festival (NYCF) announced the addition of more than 100 shows to the 2019 week-long laugh fest. Ucross, a prestigious artist residency program and creative laboratory for the arts in northeast Wyoming, premiered its "Ucross Spotlight" series on Wednesday, June 19, with a bold, intimate conversation between playwright alums Michael R. Jackson, Billy Porter, and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, as well as choreographer Raja Feather Kelly on the themes present in Jackson's provocative new musical A Strange Loop. The panel took place at the world-famous Playwrights Horizons theater following a performance of the show, with major themes of the conversation including reconciling with religion as a member of the LGBTQ community and "watering down" queer art for straight audiences. It is the first of many planned Ucross Spotlight events, which will celebrate its alumni's art and offer a first-hand look at their creative process.
