This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Lamentation Variations project- LamVar10: A Festival for New Work. Since its founding in 2007 by Graham Company Artistic Director Janet Eilber, the company has commissioned some of today's most noteworthy choreographers to create new works inspired by Graham's signature solo, Lamentation, originally created in 1930, on dancers of the company. These choreographers have included Lar Lubovitch, Michelle Dorrance, and Doug Varone, among others.

The Lar Lubovitch Dance Company announces its 50th anniversary season at The Joyce Theater in New York City, April 17 22, 2018. The season will feature the world premiere of Wanderers as well as signature works from the Company's vast repertory, including Men's Stories: A Concerto in Ruin (2000), performed by Lubovitch's acclaimed Company of dancers. The Company will be joined by the Martha Graham Dance Company and dancers from the Joffrey Ballet, each performing seminal Lubovitch dances in honor of this milestone year.

The American Dance Festival (ADF) will present the 2018 Samuel H. Scripps/American Dance Festival Award for lifetime achievement to acclaimed choreographer, Ronald K. Brown. Established in 1981 by Samuel H. Scripps, the annual award honors choreographers who have dedicated their lives and talent to the creation of modern dance. Celebrated dancer, choreographer, and teacher Dianne McIntyre will present the $50,000 award in a brief ceremony on Thursday, June 28th at 8:00pm, prior to the performance of Evidence, A Dance Company at Reynolds Industries Theater.

The evening's program also has the distinction of serving as the Company's first public performance in Harlem following their move to the Everett Center for the Performing Arts in the storied New York neighborhood two years ago.

Facing an August 31st deadline to identify a new home, Nimbus Dance Works announces that the organization, one of Jersey City's largest professional arts non-profits, and a leading dance organization statewide, will relocate to 165 Newark Avenue for the 2017-18 season, adjacent to the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza. With two dance studios, office and storage space, Nimbus' new location will house the professional company and Nimbus2 (second company), the School of Nimbus Dance Works, the NimbusPresents performance series, and company offices from which Nimbus administers dance education programs throughout the Jersey City school system. Nimbus has announced a campaign to raise funds and for in-kind items to support the move to the new location.
