San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) has announced the return of San Diego's beloved artist, Hershey Felder with his latest smash hit celebrating the world's greatest composer, Beethoven. Following his triumphs as Piotr Tchaikovsky and Irving Berlin in 2017-2018, the brilliant Hershey Felder will bring Ludwig van Beethoven to life through the eyes of a Viennese doctor who spent his boyhood by the Maestro's side in Beethoven. Directed by Joel Zwick, performances of Hershey Felder, Beethoven run February 21 - March 24, 2019, at the Lyceum Stage Theatre. Tickets start at $25 and are currently on sale to the general public. Beethoven previews on February 21, with press opening today, February 22 at 8:00 p.m.

Ondadurto Theatre From Rome Comes to LaMaMa Next Month

The Rome-based ONDADURTO TEATRO will make its U.S. debut with its newest work TERRAMIA, a multi-media performance art spectacle that takes an irreverent look at humanity through the eyes of an android.   This original work, accessible to a mixed international audience, uses text, movement, video, music and innovative scenography designed by creators Marco Paciotti and Lorenzo Pasquali, inspired by Physical Theatre, the Nouveau Cirque and Gesture Theatre.   Four performances, December 13-16, at the Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa E.T.C., 66 East 4th Street, 2nd floor.

2nd Annual Final Draft New Play Festival Comes To New Village Arts

New Village Arts announces its second New Play Festival, FINAL DRAFT, scheduled for January 3-6, 2019. This year's festival will feature plays by local playwrights Aleta Barthell, Dea Hurston, Karen Riehl, Roy Sekigahama and a full-length musical by Blake McCarty and Trevor Bachman. Selections were decided from an open submission pool of over 80 new plays and musicals and a five-person readership panel.
