Brian Charles Rooney to Star in MISS BLANCHE TELLS IT ALL at NYMF

This summer, Brian Charles Rooney will star as Miss Blanche, in the Premiere of the solo musical, Miss Blanche Tells It All by Jason Jacobs & Matthew C. Pritchard. Directed by Gisela Cardenas, with musical direction by Robert Frost and choreography by Nicole Curcio, it will begin performances as part of this year New York Musical Festival (NYMF) beginning July 12 at Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Playwrights Horizons (416 W 42nd St).

More Than $82 Million Awarded for Arts Projects Nationwide Includes $10,000 Awarded to Brevard Music Center

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $82 million to fund local arts projects and partnerships in the NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2017.  Included in this announcement is an Art Works award of $10,000 to Brevard Music Center (BMC) to support the 2017 production of the opera, Street Scene, a featured part of BMC's 2017 Kurt Weill Festival.  The NEA received 1,728 Art Works applications and will make 1,029 grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000.

Michael Cerveris to Kick off Broadway @ The Art House Series This July

Gelsey Kirkland Ballet Cancels RUSSIAN TREASURES: An Evening of Comedy & Romance Due to Company Injuries

Today, Gelsey Kirkland Ballet announced the company will be cancelling its upcoming program, Russian Treasures, due to several injuries within the company. Russian Treasures was slated to be the third program of the company's 2016/2017 season, featuring Marius Petipa's hilarious one-act comedy Cavalry Halt, as well as pieces by Leonid Yakobson, Leonid Lavrovsky, and Kasyan Goleizovsky.
