The Film Society of Lincoln Center announces Shot by Carlo Di Palma, From Rome to New York, a retrospective of the late cinematographer, July 28 - August 3.

Chicago Folks Operetta (CFO) is proud to announce the fully staged Chicago premiere of Kurt Weill's anti-war operetta Johnny Johnson, June 24 - July 9, playing at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. 

This summer, Brian Charles Rooney will star as Miss Blanche, in the Premiere of the solo musical, Miss Blanche Tells It All by Jason Jacobs & Matthew C. Pritchard. Directed by Gisela Cardenas, with musical direction by Robert Frost and choreography by Nicole Curcio, it will begin performances as part of this year New York Musical Festival (NYMF) beginning July 12 at Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Playwrights Horizons (416 W 42nd St).

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $82 million to fund local arts projects and partnerships in the NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2017.  Included in this announcement is an Art Works award of $10,000 to Brevard Music Center (BMC) to support the 2017 production of the opera, Street Scene, a featured part of BMC's 2017 Kurt Weill Festival.  The NEA received 1,728 Art Works applications and will make 1,029 grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000.

The Brevard Music Center's 81st anniversary season offers an extraordinary and diverse schedule of musical performances and exciting guest performers. Today, Gelsey Kirkland Ballet announced the company will be cancelling its upcoming program, Russian Treasures, due to several injuries within the company. Russian Treasures was slated to be the third program of the company's 2016/2017 season, featuring Marius Petipa's hilarious one-act comedy Cavalry Halt, as well as pieces by Leonid Yakobson, Leonid Lavrovsky, and Kasyan Goleizovsky. 

The Syracuse University (SU) Department of Drama is performing the powerful and engaging music of German composer Kurt Weill in its production of Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill: A Musical Voyage at the Storch Theatre at Syracuse Stage. The entertaining production, directed by Syracuse University faculty member David Lowenstein, sets course from 1930s Berlin to 1950s America, the time in which Weill's avant-garde style and gorgeous music gained international fame.

The Donmar Warehouse today announces full casting for The Public Administration and Constitution Affairs Committee Take Oral Evidence on Whitehall's Relationship with Kids Company a new musical with music by Tom Deering, and book and lyrics by Hadley Fraser and Josie Rourke.   

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, presents the Off-Broadway premiere of the new musical Marry Harry, with book by Jennifer Robbins (Hudson River Blues) and music and lyrics by Dan Martin and Michael Biello (In My Body, The Cousins Grimm). Performances began April 25, 2017 at for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).
