Over 50 Artists Announced for WAM and MopCo's 24HR THEATRE PROJECT, 5/18

For the third year in a row, WAM Theatre and The Mop & Bucket Improv Company (MopCo) will bring together over 50 theatre artists from the Berkshire and Capital Region areas to produce the 24hr Theatre Project. Together, these artists will mount five short works; all written, rehearsed, and performed in 24 hours. The 3rd Annual 24hr Berkshires/Capital Region Theatre is hosted by Proctors Theatre in Schenectady, NY, with a public performance taking place on Saturday, May 18 at 8pm.

Nearly fifty visual artists, writers, and actors participate in 10X10on10, a collaborative event of Alchemy Initiative and WAM Theatre. 10X10on10 is a multi-media theater and visual art exhibition exploring women's lives and inspiration throughout life's decades. The event is part of the 2nd annual 10X10 Upstreet Art Festival. The six performances and opening and closing art receptions will be held at Y Bar in Pittsfield from February 16 - 24.

WAM Theatre Makes $2400 Donation to Shout Out Loud Productions

In keeping with WAM Theatre's double philanthropic mission, their acclaimed October World Premiere Production of 'The Old Mezzo' by Susan Dworkin led to a $2400 donation to the production's beneficiary, Shout Out Loud Productions, a local non-profit taking action to address sexual trafficking. The check presentation was made following the final performance at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield.

New Talkback with Shout Out Loud Productions Announced for WAM Theatre's THE OLD MEZZO

Shout Out Loud Productions, the beneficiary of WAM Theatre's World Premiere production of The Old Mezzo by Berkshire Based playwright Susan Dworkin, will be on hand after the Friday, October 19 performance for a talkback. Jeanet Ingalls, founder and president and Monika Pizzichemi, secretary and still Photographer will be present for the talkback, which will be facilitated by Kristen van Ginhoven, Artistic Director of WAM Theatre. In keeping with WAM's double philanthropic mission, Shout Out Loud will receive up to 25% of the box office proceeds from the production.

WAM Theatre will be company in residence at the 2012 WordXWord Festival from August 13-August 17. Over five days of public rehearsals in the Upstairs at Spice Dragon on North Street, they will be working with an ensemble of professional actors to create a free workshop performance on Friday, August 17 at 8pm of 'like/unlike', created and directed by Leigh Strimbeck, WAM Theatre co-founder.
