Opening the 2014-2015 season is The Mountaintop by Katori Hall, playing October 4-19, with $30 previews on October 2nd and 3rd. On the eve of his assassination, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. returns to room 306 at the Lorraine Motel. A feisty and attractive maid arrives with coffee and turns out to be much more than she appears, prompting him to confront his life, his legacy, and the future of his country. Playwright Katori Hall invites us to take a closer look at the man behind the myth: a flesh and blood human, who, despite his flaws and spiritual fatigue, worked tirelessly to achieve the dream of liberty and justice for all. Gulfshore Playhouse will produce their first World Premiere with The God Game by Suzanne Bradbeer, playing tonight, January 17th through February 9th with a $25 preview performance on January 16th. The God Game is being produced in association with Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany, New York who will present the production in May 2014.

Gulfshore Playhouse has announced that they will award 10 students with a gift certificate not only for themselves, but for their whole family to see Gulfshore Playhouse's production of Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol this holiday season. The Naples Police Department will be presenting 10 students with awards for showing exemplary behavior in the community through the "Do The Right Thing" program at the Naples City Council meeting on December 4th, and Gulfshore Playhouse is proud to be able to offer these students and their families the opportunity to see this heart-warming production.

Gulfshore Playhouse announces a call for submissions for their Second Annual New Works Festival to take place in late summer 2014. The New Works Festival will bring together four playwrights and a team of actors and directors for a week-long festival in which each playwright will hone their play and then present their work to an audience.

Gulfshore Playhouse Announces First Annual New Works Festival

Gulfshore Playhouse is proud to announce the success of its First Annual New Works Festival. Kicking off Gulfshore Playhouse's 2013-2014 season, the New Works Festival brought together a team of professional actors and directors to work on the three plays chosen following an open submission process that yielded over 80 entries. Over four days of rehearsals, the playwrights were given the opportunity to edit their plays before the week culminated in a staged reading for each play. The Second Annual New Works Festival is now set to take place in August 2014.
