It was announced today that a newly revised draft of Brandon Baruch's play NO HOMO will receive an Industry Reading at the Kirk Douglas Theatre on December 8th at 8pm. The reading will be directed by Jessica Hanna and produced by Max Oken.

The Goodman Theatre's world premiere production of Rebecca Gilman's "Luna Gale," directed by Robert Falls, opens Tuesday, December 2 at 8 p.m. at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre. The production continues through December 21, 2014.

On Wednesday, December 3rd at 7 PM, Socrates in the City will present a very special onstage interview with legendary television personality and New York Times columnist Dick Cavett at W83, 150 West 83rd Street (between Columbus & Amsterdam Ave.) The interview, conducted by bestselling author and founder of Socrates in the City, Eric Metaxas, will focus on Cavett's new book Brief Encounters: Conversations, Magic Moments and Assorted Hijinks.

The world premiere production of Rebecca Gilman's powerful and arresting "Luna Gale" begins previews November 23, opens December 2 and continues through December 21, 2014, at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre. Directed by Robert Falls, the complete original cast continues with the production, including Jordan Baker, Reyna de Courcy, Melissa Duprey, Mary Beth Fisher, Erik Hellman, Colin Sphar and Richard Thieriot.

The Kirk Douglas Theatre was originally an historic 1940s Streamlined Moderne-style movie house called the Culver Theater, and it is believed that Kirk Douglas' movie "Spartacus" played there in the early 1960s. In 2003 it was transformed into an intimate 317-seat live theatre venue and named for the theatre's initial major donor: Kirk Douglas. On Tuesday, October 14, 2014, CTG's Kirk Douglas Theatre celebrated its 10th birthday with Anne and Kirk Douglas in attendance.

Culver City residents and married couple Jack Stehlin and Jeannine Wisnosky Stehlin are getting ready to open Shakespeare's OTHELLO, a co-production between the Odyssey Theatre and The New American Theatre, on Friday, October 24 at the Odyssey Theatre. Jeannine, Managing Director of The New American Theatre, is producing OTHELLO together with Ron Sossi, Artistic Director of the Odyssey Theatre, with Jack starring as the villainous Iago. With his strong physical presence and background as part Mexican and part Native American, A Martinez is playing Othello, the Moor. The production is directed by John Perrin Flynn, Artistic Director of Rogue Machine Theatre.

The Royal Court Theatre and Headlong's co-production of The Nether by Jennifer Haley is coming to the West End. According to the Daily Mail, the play will run at the Duke of York's Theatre from January 30, 2015, starring original cast members Amanda Hale, Stanley Townsend, Zoe Brough and Isabella Pappas.

The world premiere of Dael Orlandersmith's "Forever," directed by Center Theatre Group Associate Artistic Director Neel Keller, opened this Sunday, October 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the CTG/Kirk Douglas Theatre. Acclaimed actress of stage and screen, Lauren Bacall, who passed away in August 2014, had formed an astonishing art collection which included works by some of the greatest artists of the 20th century. The Bacall Collection, estimated at $3m, will be sold at Bonhams, New York – 580 Madison Avenue – in March 2015.
