Crossroads Theatre Company is now on the road with their exciting 2017/2018 'Love & Happiness' season. The Company just presented a one-weekend-only performance of The Mecca Tales at the Middlesex County College Performing Art Center from November 8th to November 12th. This beautifully written theatrical piece by Rohina Malik featured a remarkable cast and the finest direction by Kareem Fahmy.

At curtain call I joined the entire audience in standing to applaud these excellent performers. I could have stood clapping all night.

59E59 Theaters announces the 2016 line up for the annual EAST TO EDINBURGH festival. EAST TO EDINBURGH begins on Tuesday, July 12 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 31. The performance schedule varies.  Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). The Walnut Street Theatre opened their 2013-2014 season with the energetic IN THE HEIGHTS. This show takes place in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City, and tells the story of a "day' in the lives of those who live in this neighborhood. What is unique about this show is that each person not only has their own individual story, but when they sing throughout the show, they have their own style of music. For example, the character of Usnavi's songs are all rap where Nina's songs are all ballads. This show is full of energy and passion, and the Walnut Street Theatre's production of IN THE HEIGHTS is remarkable.
