Once in a great while, an electric talent explodes onto New York's musical theatre scene, earning unanimous accolades from audiences and critics. This season, lightning hit with the debut of Kim Maresca in the leading role of Judy Denmark in Off-Broadway's RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL. On November 17th, Kim took her act on the road, eight blocks north of RUTHLESS! to be exact, to make her Feinstein's/54 Below debut. KIM MARESCA: THE NEXT STAGE proved to be a triumphant sold-out musical evening, with a portion of the proceeds donated to Broadway Dreams. One of the highlights of the event was a surprise appearance by Broadway star Kelli Rabke who joined Kim onstage for a showstopping duet.
Tori Murray, the young star of Off-Broadway's smash hit musical RUTHLESS!, recently attended the 17th annual Nickelodeon HALO Awards at Pier 36 in New York City. The HALO Awards honor teens that are making a difference and Justin Bieber was this year's recipient of the first ever HALO Hall of Fame Award for his work with Make-A-Wish. You never know who you're going to see at RUTHLESS! Larry Thomas, who played the iconic role of the Soup Nazi on SEINFELD, attended the smash hit musical last week. Paul Pecorino, currently starring in the Off-Broadway smash RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL is set to be a special celebrity presenter at the 17th Annual Glam Awards tonight (Wednesday) at 9 PM. Paul will of course be appearing as his imperious (and uber glam) RUTHLESS! character, Sylvia St. Croix. The Glam Awards, hosted by Bianca Del Rio, honor the brightest stars in NYC gay nightlife and over 400 guests are expected to attend. Ron Howard took in a performance of the Off-Broadway hit Ruthless! The Musical this past Saturday, November 7th. After laughing heartily throughout the entire show, Howard was the first to leap to his feet at the curtain call's standing ovation. As a former top international child star himself, Howard was particularly interested in meeting the 11-year-old star of RUTHLESS!, Tori Murray. The two can be seen below posing and goofing with each other after Saturday's performance!
Off-Broadway's hit musical RUTHLESS! has added a special performance tomorrow, November 12th at 7 PM in observance of Veteran's Day. The show's creators, Marvin Laird and Joel Paley, are proud veterans themselves. (Veterans of negotiating the minefields of showbiz, that is.)

Longtime partners and the creators of the hit musical RUTHLESS!, Marvin Laird and Joel Paley, were married in a private ceremony this past Sunday, November 1st. It was truly a family affair with two of the producers, Maxine Paul and Evan Sacks, standing up for the resplendent grooms as maid of honor and best man respectively. (Reports remain spotty on precisely who stood up for whom.) The initial announcement of the nuptials occurred at the July 13th opening night of RUTHLESS! when Paley proposed to Laird while making a celebratory toast at the post-performance party. Sunday's wedding was held at the beautiful home of the show's third producer, Ken Schur, and his lovely and charming wife Janet. Attendees included Bernadette Peters, Lynn Cohen and select A-listers from the RUTHLESS! company. Scroll down for photos!

Beginning tonight, October 5, Jennifer Diamond will assume the roles of Louise Lerman and Eve Allabout in RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL at St. Luke's Theatre in the heart of the Theatre District.
RUTHLESS! opened July 13th at St. Luke's Theatre to unanimous rave reviews led by Entertainment Weekly which called the show, 'Uproarious! A mash-up of THE BAD SEED, GYPSY, ALL ABOUT EVE, plus the films of Douglas Sirk and John Waters!' Book and lyrics are by Joel Paley with music by Marvin Laird. Paley also directed the original 1992 Off-Broadway production as well as productions in L.A., South Beach and the record-breaking concert event starring Bernadette Peters. He once again serves as director of the newest incarnation of RUTHLESS!, with Marvin Laird on board as music supervisor as well.
Haven Burton, currently starring as Lauren in Broadway's KINKY BOOTS, attended the Sept. 21st performance of the Off-Broadway hit RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL at St. Luke's Theatre. Laura Bell Bundy, star of the original production of RUTHLESS!, checked out the new production this past Thursday, September 17th. Bundy played the lethally talented 8-year-old, Tina Denmark, in the original 1992 Off-Broadway production. Her two understudies during that yearlong run also did well for themselves in the intervening years; Britney Spears and Natalie Portman.
