The annual Philadelphia Fringe Festival and works of theatre are well known partners. Cannonball, the largest hub of the Philadelphia Fringe has an explosion of theatre throughout the entire month of September.

Theater Breaking Through Barriers will presentthe first  Hybrid  Playmakers’ Intensive:  Dramatis UbQTous,  featuring seven new, short plays created specifically for digital platforms. This year’s presentations will take place online as well as live and in person.

THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG might just be one of the funniest concepts to grace the stage of a theater in the past fifty years. The play, by Henry Lewis, Henry Shields, and Jonathan Sayer, depicts a theater group putting on a performance of “The Murder at Haversham Manor” that goes disastrously wrong from its first minutes.

Continuing their 2022 Main Stage Season, Theatre Raleigh will present The Play That Goes Wrong, directed by Theatre Raleigh favorite Tim Seib, from September 14th through 25th.

Over 65 actors of MENASA descent were virtually screened and performed for an exclusive television and film industry panel last Saturday, part of a diversity initiative produced by Studio For Performing Arts LA (SPALA) and MENA Arts Advocacy Coalition (MAAC).

After a sold out run of last season's The Roommate, Director Eileen Phelan brings We Can Eat Love to Portland Stage Studio Series.  Written by Maine native, Margie Castleman We Can Eat Love, A New Play with Heart, Soul, and a Little Music will run March 22-31 for eight performances with music by Wilder Zoby and Little Shalimar, and performed by Portland actors Grace Bauer, Whip Hubley, Khalil LeSaldo, Erik Moody, and Casey Turner.

Portland's Greek Festival ended a few weeks ago but the spirit of that ancient culture hangs in the air with the latest production from the Fenix Theatre Company. Sarah Ruhl's gentle makeover of the myth of 'Orpheus and Eurydice' is being presented in and around the small wading pools at Deering Oaks Park.

Though the sample is still small, Portland's 60 Grit Theatre Company seems to show a preference for tense little plays where highly stressed characters are holed-up in increasingly claustrophobic circumstances.
