This past weekend, Village Theatre's 16th Annual Festival of New Musicals was held in Issaquah, WA, with actors, creative teams, and writers gathered from around the country for readings of five new musicals — Costs of Living (by Timothy Huang), How to Break (book and lyrics by Aaron Jafferis, songs by Rebecca Hart, beatbox score by Yako 44), We Foxes (by Ryan Scott Oliver), String (book by Sarah Hammond, music and lyrics by Adam Gwon), and Writing Kevin Taylor (music and lyrics by Will Van Dyke, book and lyrics by Josh Halloway).
Village Theatre Sets 'Village Originals' Series for New Musicals in Development

Village Theatre is excited to announce an unprecedented expansion to its Village Originals program of readings and workshops. The new Beta Series, headed by Associate Artistic Director Brandon Ivie, is a testing ground for musicals in the middle stages of development, consisting of a three-show series of performances throughout the year.

Tony Award winner Anthony Crivello will join the cast of Studio Tenn and Tennessee Performinig Arts Center's production of Evita this September, playing the role of Juan Peron. Playing opposite Crivello in the eponymous role of Eva Peron is Broadway diva Eden Espinosa.

Lost and Found Productions presents David Hare's The Blue Room. Performances will be May 13 through 22, 2016 with shows Friday through Sunday at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Group rates available for groups of 6 or more in advance only. There will be a pay-what-you-can preview performance on Thursday, May 12. DENVER – Colorado Ballet will host the “Queen of Hearts Ball,” an Alice in Wonderland-themed gala at 5:30 p.m. on February 25, 2016 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. The evening's entertainment will include a performance by Colorado Ballet dancers performing sections from the ballet Alice (in Wonderland). In addition, Tom Wopat, who began his career as Luke Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard and went on to become a Tony-nominated Broadway singer, television and movie actor will perform live.

Will Van Dyke & Jeff Talbott Will Release Debut Album Next Month

The songwriting team of Will Van Dyke and Jeff Talbott is set to release an EP of their songs called A View of the River on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. They will then follow up the release with a concert of their songs at 54 Below on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 9:30 p.m.
