Songs by Wagner, Schumann, Ravel, and Falla Carnegie Hall today announced that pianist Kevin Murphy will replace Malcolm Martineau performing in recital with mezzo-soprano El?na Garan?a in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage next Tuesday, October 23 at 8:00 p.m. Mr. Martineau has withdrawn from this performance due to a death in his family. The American Repertory Theater of WNY will operate out of two new performances spaces for the 2018-19 season and for future seasons. Signing a 10-year lease with Sinatra & Company Real Estate, American Repertory Repertory of WNY will operate out the the former Theatreloft space on 545 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo New York. The company has also entered into an agreement with TCS Development LLC to perform out the Philip Sheridan building on 3200 Elmwood Avenue, Tonawanda NY. 'We have gone from zero to 120 overnight.' We are excited to be working with strong partners and ready to get these ventures rolling.'

Ragtime, one of the most powerful and vibrant musicals of this era, will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this July on the Dixon Hall stage. Based on the E.L. Doctorow novel, Ragtime tells the story of a restless America at the turn of the twentieth century where everything is changing and anything is possible. It is a timeless celebration of life - what it could and should be. It tells the stories of an upper-class wife, a Jewish immigrant and a daring Harlem musician - All three characters are united by their desire and belief in a brighter tomorrow. The Tony-winning score by Ahrens & Flaherty will be brought to life with the 38 member cast and 26-piece orchestra.
Musical blockbusters "Children of Eden" and "Heathers The Musical" join new plays "bee-luther-hatchee" and "Mr. Burns: A Post Electric Play" and classics "The Cherry Orchard" and "Lysistrata" on the Cal State Fullerton stages in 2018-19. Two world-premiere-packed Dance Theatre productions also headline the schedule. Yesterday, Heathers the Musical had its press launch at The Other Palace. The show, which runs this summer from 9 June to 4 August, is a newly revised and updated version of the 2014 Off-Broadway musical.
