Dallas Theater Center announced today complete details for the world-premiere of DEFERRED ACTION. A co-production with Cara Mia Theatre Co. and directed by Cara Mia's Artistic Director David Lozano, DEFERRED ACTION features company members from both DTC and Cara Mia. DEFERRED ACTION will begin previews with a Pay-What-You-Can performance on Wednesday, April 20 and will run through Saturday, May 14. Press Opening will be Today, April 29 at 8 p.m.

Dallas Theater Center and The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza will co-host a community conversation titled, "JFK - LBJ: Transition of Power" on March 21 at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. Join the conversation led by the Museum's curator, Stephen Fagin, and featured panel members. This panel discussion will offer unique comparisons of President John F. Kennedy and President Lyndon B. Johnson, and showcase firsthand accounts from November 22, 1963-shared by three individuals representing the worlds of politics, presidential security, and photojournalism. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Dallas Theater Center Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty announced today the theater's 2016-2017 season including two world-premiere musicals titled Bella: An American Tall Tale by Kirsten Childs, the co-lyricist of FLY; and the world-premiere musical Hood, a fresh take on Robin Hood by Douglas Carter Beane and Lewis Flinn. Also included in the 2016-2017 season are two of The New York Times Best Theater picks of 2015, Constellations and The Christians; the classic historical drama, Inherit The Wind; a reimagined Greek tragedy, Electra; the holiday classic, A Christmas Carol; and an exciting new work with a title to be announced. DTC's 2016-2017 season includes productions in the Potter Rose Performance Hall and the Studio Theatre at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the AT&T Performing Arts Center and the Kalita Humphreys Theater on Turtle Creek.

Alley Theatre, which is readying its production of All the Way, the Tony Award-winning play about President Lyndon Baines Johnson, has announced that actor James Black has had to withdraw from the production in order to undergo medical treatment. Actor Brandon Potter will take over the role of LBJ and all performances will continue as scheduled. Mr. Black is expected to fully recover.

Public Works Expands for 2016; Production Announced

The Public Theater announced today that after three years of successful programming and community engagement, PUBLIC WORKS will grow on both a local and national level. Three new community partners join PUBLIC WORKS 2016, which will include Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education (Bronx), Military Resilience Project (all boroughs), and Center for Family Life in Sunset Park (Brooklyn), who join Public Works partners Brownsville Recreation Center (Brooklyn), DreamYard Project (Bronx), and The Fortune Society (Queens), in addition to alumni partners Domestic Workers United (all boroughs, including Staten Island) and Children's Aid Society (Manhattan), as additional community partner organizations.
