The Human Race Theatre Company annonces the 2009-2010 Eichelberger Loft Season. The Cleveland Play House has agreed to sell its complex at 8500 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, to the Cleveland Clinic. The Board of Directors overwhelmingly approved the sale of the 300,000 square foot building and approximately twelve acres of land at its Annual Meeting on July 16, 2009.

Thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Arizona Theatre Company has received a one-time grant of $50,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts. Arizona Theatre Company is one of four arts organizations in the state to have received a grant from the Recovery Act. This grant helps preserve key positions in our Education staff in Tucson and Phoenix, allowing the company to continue its education programs throughout the State of Arizona.

Uptown Players has revived this tradition of slapstick with its outrageous stage production Mommie Queerest, a parody of the 1970s book and hit film 'Mommie Dearest' based on the life of screen actress Joan Crawford, now running through Jul. 12 at the S4 Rose Room in the Oak Lawn area.
The Cleveland Play House is excited to announce that Dee Hoty, a three-time Tony Award? nominated actress, will be the featured entertainer at their Annual Gala on Saturday, June 6, 2009. Born and raised in Lakewood, Ohio, Hoty began her professional career at The Cleveland Play House as a member of the repertory company (1975 and 1976). The evening begins at 6:30pm and will include complimentary valet parking, a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres, dinner, silent and live auction, entertainment and dancing.
Hoty earned Tony Award? nominations for her starring roles in Footloose, The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public, and The Will Rogers Follies. She recently starred on Broadway in Mamma Mia! and continued on the national tour in eight major U.S. cities. She can be heard on the original recordings of City of Angels, The Will Rogers Follies, The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public, and Footloose, and on the 2CD set of Stephen Sondheim's Follies from the Papermill Playhouse production. She is also featured on the video/DVD of My Favorite Broadway: The Leading Ladies. Other Broadway shows include City of Angels, Me and My Girl, Big River, The Five O'Clock Girl and Shakespeare's Cabaret. A favorite of Tommy Tune's, Hoty starred opposite him in the recent U.S. tour of Doctor Dolittle. She also appeared with Stacy Keach in the first national tour of Barnum. Her New York nightclub and cabaret appearances include the Russian Tea Room, Rainbow and Stars and the Metropolitan Room with Larry Gatlin.
Drury Lane Theatre Water Tower Place, 175 E. Chestnut Street, announces two new Summer Music Series performances and two new Chicago Cabaret Professionals (CCP) Musical Mondays performances due to the overwhelming popularity of the cabaret concert programming launched in 2008. Jessica L. Andrews has announced that she is stepping down from her role as Arizona Theatre Company?s Executive Director at the close of the 2008-2009 Season. Jessica Andrews will continue to work with Arizona Theatre Company on a consultant basis, contributing to ATC?s short and long-term goals. Kevin E. Moore will continue to serve as Arizona Theatre Company?s Managing Director, working closely with Artistic Director David Ira Goldstein.
