Summoners Ensemble Theatre, the team behind A Christmas Carol at the Merchant's House featuring John Kevin Jones, is pleased to announce that Eudora Welty - Mississippi Stories, adapted from the works of Eudora Welty by Voices of the South and Gloria Baxter, will debut in New York this summer at the Studio Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Artists Repertory Theatre recently announced the extension of 'We Are Proud to Present a Presentation About the Herero of Namibia, Formerly Known as South West Africa, From the German Sudwestafrika, Between the Years 1884-1915,' due to outstanding advance ticket sales. This is the third play this season that has been extended prior to opening due to demand. The show runs now through April 10, 2016, and BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

When Jackie Sibblies Drury wrote WE ARE PROUD TO PRESENT A PRESENTATION ABOUT THE HERERO OF NAMIBIA, FORMERLY KNOWN AS SOUTHWEST AFRICA, FROM THE GERMAN SUDWESTAFRIKA, BETWEEN THE YEARS 1884-1915 (yes, that's the complete title), in 2012, she couldn't have known the maelstrom that would be upon us in 2016. Since the shooting of Michael Brown led to protests in Ferguson, Missouri, race relations in the United States have been declining. According to a survey, they're currently at their worst in recent history.

The Rainbow Theatre Project's Generation Q Staged Reading Series continues with a presentation of two works by British playwrights, beginning with the short play MR. FANTASTIC, by Kevin Jones (Wales), followed by the award-winning BEAUTIFUL THING by Jonathan Harvey (England).

Some of Manhattan's most famous resident ghosts will once again be visited by three well-known literary spirits this holiday season. Summoners Ensemble Theatre returns to the Merchant's House Museum with A Christmas Carol at the Merchant's House.

As we approach the 50th Anniversary of the passage of New York City's Landmarks Law in 2015, it is especially timely that we have the privilege to announce Meenakshi Srinivasan, Chair of the Landmarks Preservation Commission, as the Honorary Chair of A Christmas Carol at the Merchant's House Benefit Gala. The Merchant's House was the first building designated a landmark in the Borough of Manhattan at the inaugural meeting of the Landmarks Preservation Commission in September 1965.
