The New York premiere of Surfer Girl by acclaimed screen & playwright Leslye Headland (Assistance, Bachelorette), presented by Animus Theatre Company (Jonathan Judge-Russo, Founding Artistic Director) in association with The Dirty Blondes, will begin performances tomorrow, Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at The Foley Gallery (59 Orchard Street, between Grand and Hester), located in Manhattan's esteemed Lower Eastside gallery district. In honor of the productions inaugural performance, the evening will include a special post-performance conversation with Ms. Headland, who is currently in NYC filming her previously announced Netflix series with Amy Poehler and Natasha Lyonne.

According to Comingsoon.net, the forthcoming documentary following the life of Whitney Houston will be released this summer on July 6. The doc, titled WHITNEY, is directed by Kevin Macdonald, who is known for winning the Academy Award for  ONE DAY IN SEPTEMBER. The documentary is coming from Roadside Attractions and Miramax. The Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP) and Tubefilter join CBC Comedy, Project 10 Productions and Some Spider Studios as program partners for Stand Up & Pitch '18, the comedy industry's largest and longest running pitch program. The announcement was made today by Just For Laughs ComedyPRO. Now in its seventh year, Stand Up & Pitch takes place July 25 - 28, 2018 during key industry dates of the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.
