Star of stage and screen, Cynthia Nixon, has joined the cast of The Pink Campaign on Broadway - an inspirational Broadway benefit performance filling the stage with original music and theatre that explores the ways in which breast cancer touches people's lives. Other new additions to the evening include actors Will Rogers ('Gossip Girl,' From Up Here) and Charles Shaughnessy (Urinetown, 'The Nanny') and directors Michael Berresse ([title of show]) and Marc Bruni (White Christmas).

The Young Professionals Committee of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, New York City Affiliate will present The Pink Campaign on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd St). This one-night only event will take place on Monday, May 4, 2009 and will be an inspirational Broadway benefit performance filling the stage with original music and theatre that explores the ways in which breast cancer touches people's lives.

Kristen Johnston will co-host the 2009 Lucille Lortel Awards, trade paper Variety reports.

Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz and Aaron Tveit announced at last night's MISCAST benefit that they indeed will be playing the leading roles in the upcoming Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman musical CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. Tveit will portray young con artist Frank Abagnale, Jr. while Butz will play FBI agent Carl Hanratty, his tireless pursuer.

The special star-studded evening will feature performers from stage & screen - from Saturday Night Live to Spring Awakening - all to benefit Family Equality Council, Empire State Pride Agenda, Equality California, Garden State Equality, and The Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force. 100% of the profits from this spectacular event will be donated directly to Family Equality Council, Empire State Pride Agenda, Equality California, Garden State Equality, and The Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force, five charitable organizations working to promote equality and protect civil rights for the gay and lesbian community. Broadway's cuddliest friends kicked off a new year with the 12th annual BROADWAY BEARS auction on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill (237 West 42 St.), in support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. BroadwayWorld's cameras joined the fun and the caught bidding of the bears!
