The Town Hall, Broadway's landmark concert venue, presents the fifth annual Broadway Cabaret Festival, October 16th- 18th. This three-concert series, created, written an hosted by Scott Siegel, takes place over one weekend and includes A Tribute to David Merrick, staring Corbin Bleu of High School Musical, on Friday October 16th at 8pm, All of Me staring Linda Eder on Saturday October 17th at 8pm and Broadway Originals on Sunday October 18th at 3pm.
Jim Caruso's Cast Party, in association with Amy Birnbaum, is proud to announce that the Broadway community will pay musical tribute to the late, great Michael Jackson in DON'T STOP TILL YOU GET ENOUGH, on Monday, October 19 at 7pm at Birdland. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will benefit The VH1 Save The Music Foundation. The event will be part of the ongoing, award-winning Broadway at Birdland concert series.
The 'King of Pop' will be honored with a special musical tribute titled ‘Don't Stop Till You Get Enough' to be presented on Monday, October 19 at 7PM at Birdland in New York City. On Monday, Broadway's best singers gathered on the Town Hall stage to perform some of the funniest, most dramatic, most rousing and most poignant showstoppers from musicals. Ably directed by Scott Thompdon and musically guided by musical director Fred Barton (who must surely have an aging portrait locked in at attic somewhere, and who performed mere days after sustaining injuries in a car accident), the evening represented songs ranging from jazz standards by Eubie Blake to this year's Tony winner for best score, Next to Normal.

In contrast to the earlier shows of the ninth Broadway by the Year season, Scott Siegel chose a year with several hit shows?and hit shows?as the season finale at Town Hall last week. 1970 is probably best known for Company and Applause, but this was also the year of Purlie and The Rothschilds, as well as one of Richard Rodgers? final musicals, Two by Two. To his credit, Siegel gave every show ample opportunity to prove its worth, offering a wide spectrum of songs and styles, nicely accompanied (as always) by Ross Patterson and his Little Big Band.

Drama Desk nominees received their official Nomination Certificates at a cocktail reception on Friday, May 1st at Il Bastardo restaurant, 191 Seventh Avenue (between 21st and 22nd Streets).
