Your Name Here (David Macke, Artistic Director) offers a fun evening of four short plays by queer playwrights that range from a chance encounter in a hotel room to finding love within the arms of a puma to finding something remarkably in common with one's own bully. The shows will be performed today, July 12 and Sunday, July 13 at 5 pm at The Tank.

Terrence McNally's recent Tony-nominated play MOTHERS AND SONS will be the final show in SpeakEasy Stage Company's 24th Season, the theatre's Producing Artistic Director Paul Daigneault announced today. MOTHERS AND SONS will play for five weeks, May 8 - June 6, 2015, in the Roberts Studio Theatre in the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts.

Stable Cable Lab Co. and Vera Khodasevich presents a workshop production of Accidents Waiting to Happen, a play by Jonathan Libman, directed by Padraic Lillis. Invited presentations for Accidents Waiting to Happen will begin tonight, May 28, 2014 at IRT Theater and are scheduled to run through Sunday, June 8, 2014.

The Playwrights' Center today announced its 2014-15 roster of playwriting fellows and new Core Writers, who together will receive more than $200,000 in awards and additional development funds. The Playwrights' Center is an internationally renowned play development center and artist service organization dedicated to supporting the development of playwrights and new plays. Core Writers and fellows are selected by independent panels composed of nationally recognized theater artists and leaders.

Playwrights commissioned by Jim Simpson and Carol Ostrow including Tony Award and Academy Award winners and nominees David Henry Hwang, Craig Lucas, Billy Porter, Jose Rivera and Jeff Whitty; Flea alumni, Mallery Avidon, Trista Baldwin, Erin Courtney, Yussef El Guindi, Amy Freed, Sean Graney, Nick Jones, Qui Nguyen, and Jenny Schwartz; and a host of notable newcomers, Marc Acito, Johnna Adams, Liz Duffy Adams, Bill Cain, CollaborationTown, Jorge Ignacio Cortiñas, Eisa Davis, Gabriel Jason Dean, Chris Dimond, Madeleine George, Kate Gersten, Sevan K. Greene, Kirsten Greenidge, Lillian Groag, Jordan Harrison, Lucas Hnath, Ann Marie Healy, Meghan Kennedy, Kimber Lee, Kenneth Lin, Laura Marks, Ellen McLaughlin, Michael Mitnick, Don Nguyen, Dael Orlandersmith, A. Rey Pamatmat, Max Posner, Kate Moira Ryan, Najla Said, Jordan Seavey, Matthew Stephen Smith, Lloyd Suh, Jason Williamson and Bess Wohl join together to tell the entire History of Man's Salvation in 52 episodes from The Fall of Lucifer through and including Judgment Day.

Direction by Liz Carlson (The Playwrights Realm's Lottie in the Late Afternoon), Matt Dickson (INTAR's The Lowest Form of Writing), John Giampietro (EST's Year of the Rooster), and Jesse Jou (Rising Circle Theater Collectives's Say You Heard My Echo). The plays of the Smackdown are produced by Alyssa Anderson, Ying Le, Greg Nobile, Meghan Pressman, and Lico Whitfield.

A reimagining of the Broadway musical BIG FISH, the New England Premiere of the comedy BAD JEWS, the Boston Premiere of the acclaimed musical FAR FROM HEAVEN, and two World Premiere plays - NECESSARY MONSTERS by John Kuntz and A FUTURE PERFECT by Ken Urban - are among the six productions that SpeakEasy Stage Company will present during its 2014-2015 Season. The 8th Annual One-Minute Play Festival will take place Wednesday, April 2, 2014 for two performances only, at 6PM and 9PM at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters. Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that Ken Urban's The Correspondent, directed by Stephen Brackett will begin previews tonight, January 29, 2014, at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place, west of Seventh Avenue South, between West 11th and Perry Streets. The official opening night is set for Thursday, February 13, 2014. The Correspondent is scheduled to run through Sunday, March 16.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced the 2013 F*ck!ng Good Plays (festival, IV) -three (3) days of new play readings by four (4) of today's hottest playwrights. The festival, to be presented at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place - off 7th Avenue South between West 11th & Perry Streets) will begin on Monday the 16th, and continue on Wednesday the 18th and Thursday the 19th. Playwrights include: Denis Johnson, Basil Kreimendahl, Michael Laurence, and Jen Silverman. The readings will be directed by David Kennedy, Lisa Peterson, Francine Volpe, and Davis McCallum.
