WaterTower Theatre to Host 2nd Annual 24-Hour Play Festival This Winter

WaterTower Theatre Managing Director Gregory  Patterson and Associate Artistic Director Kelsey Leigh Ervi today announced details for the Second Annual 24-HR Play Festival. Performances will take place on WaterTower Theatre's Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Conference and Theatre Centre on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 8pm.

WaterTower Theatre Announces Casting and Creative Team for the Regional Premiere of SILENT SKY

WaterTower Theatre Managing Director Greg Patterson and Associate Artistic Director Kelsey Leigh Ervi today announced casting and creative team details for the Regional Premiere of Silent Sky, directed by Kelsey Leigh Ervi. A new play by Lauren Gunderson, Silent Sky will run January 20-February 12, 2017, in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. The cast features Anastasia Munoz as Henrietta Leavitt, Sarah Elizabeth Price as Margaret Leavitt, Mitchell Stephens as Peter Shaw, Marianne Galloway as Annie Cannon, and Shannon J. McGrann as Williamina Fleming.

WaterTower Theatre Managing Director Greg Patterson and Associate Artistic Director Kelsey Leigh Ervi today announced casting and creative team details for Sister's Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi's Gold, Directed by Marc Silvia, with Musical Direction by Mark Mullino.  Making her WaterTower Theatre debut in Sister's Christmas Catechism will be Nonie Newton Riley. This hilarious holiday special is presented in association with Entertainment Events Inc., New York City, NY, and runsDecember 2- 23, 2016 in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre.   This special holiday production is sponsored, in part, by Frost Bank.

The cast features Spencer Baker as Eddie, Ian Ferguson as Mark, Sonny Franks as David, Katrina Kratzer as Trenna, and Brian Mathis as Jason.

Denise Lee to Headline 3rd Annual Community Cast party at WaterTower Theatre

Community Cast Party Co-Chairs Stan Graner, Corky Pledger, Deborah Staggs and Maureen Anderson today announced details for the 3rdAnnual Community Cast Party.  The party will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at WaterTower Theatre from 7 pm to 11 pm.  The Community Cast Party, is designed to attract a wide audience of patrons who are interested in supporting WaterTower Theatre while enjoying an evening of entertainment with cuisine offered from many fine local restaurants.  Attendees will have a unique opportunity to mix and mingle with many artists from the DFW theatre community at the “open house” style event, where everyone is welcome.

Directors Announced for WaterTower Theatre's 2016-17 Main Stage Season

?WaterTower Theatre Managing Director Gregory Patterson and Associate Artistic Director Kelsey Leigh Ervi today announced the directors for the upcoming 2016-2017 WaterTower Theatre Main Stage Season in The Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre.   Directing the season opener, Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash (October 7- 30, 2016) is B.J. Cleveland with Musical Direction by Sonny Franks.  Next up, the regional premiere of Silent Sky (January 20-February 12, 2017) will be directed by Kelsey Leigh Ervi.  The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens, and Count Leo Tolstoy: Discord (April 14-May 7, 2017) will be directed by Emily Scott Banks.  Rene Moreno will return to direct Native Gardens (June 2- 25, 2017). Sunday in the Park With George (July 28-August 20, 2017) will be directed by Terry Martin, with Musical Direction by Jeff Lankov.

WaterTower Theatre Names New Associate Artistic Director

Gregory Patterson, WaterTower Theatre's Managing Director, today announced the appointment of Kelsey Leigh Ervi as Associate Artistic Director. Ervi, the Company's Artistic & Marketing Associate since 2014, will assume her new position effective immediately. The newly created position reports to the Managing Director. In her new position, Ervi will have overall responsibility for artistic and production related matters.

Cast, Creative Team Announced for WaterTower's BRIGHT HALF LIFE

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced casting and creative team details for Bright Half Life (May 21 - June 12, 2016) which will be produced as part of the Discover Series in The Studio Theatre. Bright Half Life, a romantic drama by Pulitzer Prize nominee Tanya Barfield, will be directed by Garret Storms and will co-star Kelsey Leigh Ervi and Kenneisha Thompson who will both make their WaterTower Theatre debuts. The production previews May 21 and 22 and opens May 23 running for 16 performances through June 12, 2016.

WaterTower Theatre to Host 2nd Annual Women in Theatre Series

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced details for the second annual WOMEN IN THEATRE series. The event is presented under the auspices of Women of WaterTower Theatre (WOW!) and it is co-chaired by Karol Omlor and Andrea Redmon. This is the second lecture in the series (the first was held last year and featured female directors), and it will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm (with a post-lecture reception in the lobby with the artists). The event will be held in the Main Space at WaterTower Theatre. The lecture will be moderated by the Dallas Observer's Arts and Culture Editor Lauren Smart, and features Pam Dougherty, Jenny Ledel, Denise Lee, Sarah Elizabeth Smith and Wendy Welch.

Out of the Loop Fringe Festival 2016 Lineup Set

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director and Loop Executive Producer Terry Martin today announced details for the WaterTower Theatre produced 24-HR Play Festival.  The event, to be held on Saturday, March 5 at 8 pm in the Main Stage, will include playwrights Devin Berg, Ruth Cantrell, Daniel Garcia and Brandi L. McDowell.

Stage West to Present SEXY LAUNDRY

Michele Riml is a critically acclaimed playwright from Vancouver, British Columbia. Her plays have been produced across Canada and in the U.S. including the Globe Theatre, The Grand, the Arts Club Theatre and the Belfry. Other plays include Miss Teen, Under The Influence, RAGE (winner of the 2005 Sydney Risk prize for Outstanding Original Play), and the acclaimed Poster Boys, which premiered at the Arts Club Theatre in 2008. Her plays for young audiences, commissioned by Green Thumb Theatre for Young People, include Cool, Invisible Girl, The Skinny Lie and Tree Boy. Michele was nominated for the 2008 Siminovitch Prize.

WaterTower Theatre to Stage SEXY LAUNDRY This Winter

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin is set to direct the Michele Riml comedy SEXY LAUNDRY, which will be presented on the Main Stage November 20 - December 13, 2015. Veteran actors Wendy Welch and Bob Hess will co-star as Alice and Henry.
