The cast, crew, and sponsors gathered at the Triad Theater to celebrate the wrap party and advanced screening of the short musical film ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE! Executive producer and co-creator Sarah Bierstock, of Pass the Salt Productions, was joined by director and co-creator Desiree Abeyta, along with a room full of enthusiastic producers, including Miranda Plant Byers, Jennifer Diamond, Jennifer Piech Pasbjerg, and sponsor Danielle Lemberg (Seward and Kissel, LLP).
Inspired by deposition transcripts from a malpractice case, 'Let It Come Down' portrays the relationship between patient and therapist as a seductive love more powerful and volatile than any romance. Rachel is exploring family secrets with her maternal therapist, but when the doctor faces a lawsuit for abruptly terminating treatment, she paints Rachel as violent and an explosive, life-altering battle ensues. This tale of betrayal ignites a dialogue about the dynamics of therapy and the volatile line between obsession and love.
Variations Theatre Group's critically acclaimed production of Eric Bogosian's TALK RADIO will conclude its limited engagement tomorrow night (Saturday) at the Chain Theatre. Inspired by the 1984 murder of controversial shock jock Alan Berg, TALK RADIO is set in a Cleveland radio station over the course of Barry Champlain's two-hour broadcast as he's being scrutinized that night by producers fixated on taking the show national, and fueled as always by coffee, cocaine and Jack Daniel's. Barry's jousts with his unseen callers-ranging from a white supremacist to a woman obsessed with her garbage disposal-are interspersed with confrontations by his ex-deejay pal and his sometime girlfriend/producer.
Barbara Rosenblat, who plays the cancer-stricken inmate Miss Rosa on "Orange is the New Black," recently checked out the new revival of Eric Bogosian's TALK RADIO at the Chain Theatre. Barbara appeared in the 2007 Broadway production of TALK RADIO starring Live Schreiber, and she was also in the original cast of The Secret Garden as the housekeeper Mrs. Medlock.
