Inspired by deposition transcripts from a malpractice case, "Let It Come Down" portrays the relationship between patient and therapist as a seductive love more powerful and volatile than any romance. Rachel is exploring family secrets with her maternal therapist, but when the doctor faces a lawsuit for abruptly terminating treatment, she paints Rachel as violent and an explosive, life-altering battle ensues. This tale of betrayal ignites a dialogue about the dynamics of therapy and the volatile line between obsession and love.

"Let It Come Down" is written by Eve Lederman and directed by Katherine M. Carter. The play is produced by FMC Productions and Adam Gale.

The cast features Jana Robbins (Broadway - Gypsy and The Tale of the Allergist's Wife); Francile Albright (Off Broadway - 365 Days/365 Plays and Anne of Green Gables); Kelly Jean Clair (Miss Witherspoon; The Graduate); and David Sitler (Broadway - Frost/Nixon and An Inspector Calls).

Members of the creative team include sound designer Beth Lake, costume designer Caitlin Cisek, lighting designer Benjamin Weill, stage manager Phoebe Duncan and associate producer Holly Rosen Fink. Fiscal sponsorship is provided by Theater Resources Unlimited.

The play was developed through a reading at Theater for the New City and workshop at Dixon Place. The script was also shortlisted for the Landing Theatre Company's New American Voices series and the Tangent Theatre Company's New Plays Festival.

Theater for the New City and Crystal Field (Artistic Director) present "Let It Come Down" as part of the Dream Up Festival at TNC, located at 155 First Avenue at 10th Street. The limited engagement runs September 8, 12, 13 and 16. For more information and tickets, call (212) 868-4444 or visit Smarttix.com.
