Bristol Riverside Theatre concludes its 25th Anniversary Season with the Broadway mega-hit Rent by Jonathan Larsonplaying at Bristol Riverside Theatre now through June 3. Directed by Jose Zayas, the cast features Julian Alvarez, Mark Willis Borum, Tracie Franklin, James LaRosa, Meera Mohan, Brendan Norton, Tyrone Roberson, Jamila Sabares-Klemm, Tara Tagliaferro, Brit West, and Nadine Zahr with local actors Michael Hogan, Joseph Michael O'Brien, and Carl Nathaniel Smith. Bristol Riverside Theatre today announced its 2012-2013 mainstage season featuring Oleanna by David Mamet, What a Glorious Feeling written by Jay Berkow and based on the film Singin' in the Rain, the world premiere of Faery Tales by Allan Knee, Gilbert & Sullivan's popular operetta The Pirates of Penzance, and Inherit the Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee.

Bristol Riverside Theatre presents comedian Charles Ross in One Man Star Wars Trilogy on June 16 at 8 PM and June 17 at 3 PM at Bristol Riverside Theatre. In this tour-de-force performance, Ross plays all the characters of the popular Star Wars series, sings the music, flies the ships, fights the battles and condenses the plot into 60 minutes.

Theatre Bay Area and the research firm WolfBrown announce the completion of the book Counting New Beans: Intrinsic Impact and the Value of Art. The book contains the final report of "Measuring the Intrinsic Impact of Live Theatre," and interviews with more than 20 prominent artistic directors in the United States, and essays by industry thought-leaders Diane Ragsdale, Arlene Goldbard, Rebecca Novick, and more. A book tour will launch March 12 in Chicago, and will visit eight cities in the United States including Minneapolis, Boston, New York, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Counting New Beans: Intrinsic Impact and the Value of Art is now available for purchase at www.theatrebayarea.org/intrinsicimpact. Also available on the site are the executive summary of the work and interview excerpts, available free of charge.
