About Face Theatre to Stage A KID LIKE JAKE, 2/6-3/15

About Face Theatre is pleased to continue its 2014-15 season with the Chicago premiere of A KID LIKE JAKE, Daniel Pearle's contemporary dramedy about parenting, gender and fitting in. Directed by Keira Fromm, A KID LIKE JAKE will play February 6 to March 15, 2015 at the Greenhouse Theater Center (Upstairs Studio), 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago.

About Face Theatre's Full 2014-15 Season to Include A KID LIKE JAKE, METHTACULAR! & More

About Face Theatre has announced its full line-up of 2014-15 programming, kicking off this fall with the Chicago premiere of METHTACULAR!, Steven Strafford's hilarious and harrowing autobiographical account of his three year crystal meth addiction in Chicago. In the winter, AFT presents the Chicago premiere of Daniel Pearle's A KID LIKE JAKE, a contemporary look at gender seen through the lens of parents shepherding their Cinderella-loving son through the rigors of NYC kindergarten admissions. Next spring, AFT presents another Chicago premiere - Bixby Elliot's comedy ABRAHAM LINCOLN WAS A F*GG*T, a teen's touching and hilarious quest to prove the truth behind our 16th President's sexual orientation.

Strawdog Theatre Company and Interim Artistic Director Hank Boland announced the final production to their 2013 - 2014 season, Jessica Dickey's Charles Ives Take Me Home, May 9 - June 21, direction by Keira Fromm with music direction by Strawdog Theatre Company Member Mike Przygoda and original music composition by Christopher Kriz, at Strawdog Theatre Company, 3829 N. Broadway Street. Preview performance tickets are $15 and continue tonight, Thursday, May 15 and Friday, May 16 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 18 at 4 p.m. There is a Board Preview performance, Saturday, May 17 at 7 p.m., with $50 tickets that include access to a post-performance reception. Opening/press night is Monday, May 19 at 8 p.m. Industry night is Monday, June 2 at 8 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursdays - Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. Single tickets are $28 and are currently on sale. TimeLine to Present Sarah Treem's THE HOW AND THE WHY, 1/28-4/6

TimeLine Theatre Company continues its 2013-14 season with The How and the Why, a smart and provocative new play about science, family and survival of the fittest by Sarah Treem, the acclaimed writer/producer for Netflix's House of Cards and HBO's In Treatment. The How and the Why will run at TimeLine Theatre, 615 W. Wellington Avenue in Chicago, February 6 - April 6, 2014 (previews January 28 - February 5). Press opening is Thursday, February 6 at 7:30 pm.

Chuck Spencer & Cyd Blakewell Set for Marco Ramirez's BROADSWORD at Gift Theatre; Full Cast Announced

The Gift Theatre artistic director Michael Patrick Thornton has announced casting for the Chicago premiere of Broadsword: A Heavy Metal Play written by Marco Ramirez (Orange is the New Black; Sons of Anarchy) and directed by Keira Fromm. Guest artists Chuck Spencer (Jeff Award-winner for Redtwist's Man From Nebraska) and Pavement Group's Cyd Blakewell (currently co-starring in Mine) join The Gift Ensemble members John Kelly Connolly (The Lonesome West), James D. Farruggio (Suicide, Inc.), Gabriel Franken (Mine) and John Gawlik (The Lonesome West).

David Cromer to Lead TimeLine's NORMAL HEART; Casts Announced for Fall Season

TimeLine Theatre Company, dedicated to presenting plays inspired by history that connect to today's social and political issues, has finalized casting for three of the four productions of its 2013-14 season, as the company embarks upon its most ambitious season ever with major revivals (A Raisin in the Sun, The Normal Heart and the musical Juno), a new play (The How and the Why), and a pioneering partnership with the Chicago Commercial Collective and Broadway In Chicago to remount a previous hit show (To Master the Art).

JEFF-Nominated Keira Fromm (Redtwist's Lobby Hero) directs. ENFRASCADA, the second offering in 16th Street's Season Five 2012: Love, Faith and the Unknown, follows the successful, extended run of Accidental Rapture.
