Previews began Sunday (February 24) for Tina Benko starring in Jackie, the North American premiere of the play by Nobel Prize winning Austrian Elfriede Jelinek, best known in the United States for her novel The Piano Teacher and the 2001 film based on it. Directed by Tea Alagic from the English translation by Gitta Honegger, Jackie opens Tuesday, March 5, at 7:30pm at Women's Project Theater's new home, New York City Center Stage II, 131 West 55th Street. For its first production following the sold-out run of Katori Hall's Children of Killers, the Castillo Theatre will premiere Demonstration 2013, a multi-media performance piece written by artistic director Dan Friedman that will run for seven performances (today, February 23, 24 and March 1, 2, 3, 9 and 10) at the Castillo Theatre, 543 West 42nd Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues.

Capital Stage continues its 2012-13 'Season of Power Plays' with the Sacramento premiere of Katori Hall's THE MOUNTAINTOP - a surrealistic fantasy about a chance encounter between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and a mysterious hotel maid who brings him a cup of coffee and prompts him to confront his life, his past, his legacy and the future of his people. Baltimore audiences love Katori Hall's magical play The Mountaintop, directed by Kwame Kwei-Armah. One of the highest grossing plays in the theater's 50 year history, CENTERSTAGE is adding an additional performance on Sunday, February 24, at 7:30 pm to accommodate demand. Unfortunately the show must end on February 24 due to scheduling conflict
Theatre503's THE LIFE OF STUFF Begins April 10

Artistic Director Paul Robinson will direct Theatre503's first Second Look production, a revival of Simon Donald's Evening Standard Award-winning play The Life of Stuff. A perfectly preserved comic snapshot of Edinburgh's underworld, Simon Donald's play premiered at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh before transferring the Donmar Warehouse in 1993. The Life of Stuff will run at Theatre503, above the Latchmere Pub in Battersea between 10 April and 4 May.
Philadelphia Theatre Company and IATSE Local 8 Reach Agreement

Philadelphia Theatre Company has announced that an agreement has been reached with IATSE Local 8, the union representing the stagehand employees. The agreement needs to be ratified by the union leadership and the Philadelphia Theatre Company board of directors.
