KC Rep to Stage The Living Room's Re-Imagined CAROUSEL, 3/8-31

Excitement is building for Kansas City Rep's presentation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel, directed by Kyle Hatley, the theatre's associate artistic director. This is the musical theatre event that sparked delight in hearts of audience members and critics alike when it was first presented in 2011 by The Living Room (TLR), one of Kansas City's most imaginative small theatre companies. The Rep is now bringing TLR's beautifully re-envisioned Carouselto Spencer Theatre for a second production.

Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group announced earlier today that their spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera will launch a North American tour beginning this November in Providence, R.I at the Providence Performing Arts Center. With newly reinvented staging and stunning scenic design, this new version of PHANTOM, the most successful musical of all-time, will play more than 20 multi-week engagements through next year, including Cincinnati, OH and Minneapolis, MN. A complete tour schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. First unveiled in March, 2012 in Plymouth, England, this reinvented PHANTOM has been an enormous box-office and critical hit throughout the U.K. Check out photos and highlights from the newly imagined production below!

Tickets are now on sale for The Secret Garden, Minnetonka High School's 10th annual fall musical under the Artistic Direction of Kent Knutson. The award-winning theatre department is excited to celebrate this landmark with the whole community by presenting a classic, family friendly production based on the beloved Victorian tale. Professional actors, directors and designers work to present a collection of seven staged readings, plays and monologues from teen members of the Coterie's Young Playwrights' Roundtable.

Daily Mail reports that the cast of Cameron Mackintosh and Tom Hooper's film version of the musical Les Miserables now includes Bertie Carvel (Matilda), Daniel Evans (Sunday in the Park with George) and Adrian Scarborough (Betty Blue Eyes). In addition, several cast members who have performed in stage versions of Les Miserables will star in the film including Caroline Sheen, Hadley Fraser, Killian Donnelly, Mike Jibson, Linzi Hateley, Gemma Wardle, Katy Secombe, Gina Beck, Fra Fee, Alexia Khadine and Katie Hall.
