Having previously wowed audiences around the world, Sheffield Theatres is delighted to welcome classic Broadway musical West Side Story to the Lyceum stage this summer from Tuesday 1 July to Saturday 12 July.

Set in 1950's Manhattan, this internationally acclaimed production stars Katie Hall (Phantom of the Opera, BBC1's I'd Do Anything) as Maria and Louis Maskell (My Fair Lady) as Tony alongside Djalenga Scott (Chicago, Flashdance - The Musical) as Anita and Jack Wilcox (Singin' In The Rain, Wicked, Shoes) as Riff.

Based on Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story tells the tale of two young lovers caught up in the rivalry between teenage gangs; one white, one Puerto Rican. When Tony falls in love with Maria, the sister of the rival gang's leader, a long held feud takes on a new dimension, and as their love blossoms so begins a fatal journey overshadowed by violence and hatred.

With Jerome Robbins' original choreography, music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, from the book by Arthur Laurents, the unforgettable score including 'Maria', 'Tonight', 'Somewhere', 'I Feel Pretty' and show-stopping 'America' has made West Side Story one of the most successful stage shows of all time

West Side Story comes to the Lyceum Theatre from Tuesday 1 - Saturday 12 July. Tickets are on sale now, priced from £27.00 - £45.00 and can be purchased from Sheffield Theatres' Box Office in person, by calling 0114 249 6000, and online at sheffieldtheatres.co.uk. A transaction fee of £1.50 (£1.00 online) applies to all bookings made at the Box Office, excluding cash.
