Stand Up To Cancer Has Its Best-Ever Fundraising Special

Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) today announced more than $123.6 million has been pledged collectively so far in connection with the star-studded Sept. 7 "roadblock" fundraising telecast in the United States and Canada. The funds pledged toward the SU2C scientific model will be directed to collaborative research programs utilizing SU2C's scientific oversight in both the United States and Canada.

Stars Rally Together Again for Stand Up To Cancer's Live Broadcast on Today

Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), a division of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), is proud to announce that the Hollywood community is rallying together yet again to support the sixth biennial televised fundraising special today, Sept. 7 (8:00–9:00 p.m. EDT/PDT and 7:00–8:00 p.m. CDT). Mahershala Ali, Kathy Bates, Katie Couric, Jennifer Garner, Tony Hale, Marg Helgenberger, Ed Helms, Ken Jeong, Marlee Matlin, Matthew McConaughey, Maria Menounos, Jillian Michaels, Trevor Noah, Dak Prescott, Italia Ricci, Rob Riggle, Karla Souza, David Spade, Keith Urban and Reese Witherspoon will participate in this memorable event – marking 10 years since the first telecast and 10 years of SU2C's lifesaving research achievements. Additional stars and performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

More Stars Announced for the Stand Up To Cancer Telecast

Stand Up To Cancer's sixth biennial telecast on Friday, Sept. 7 (8:00 – 9:00 p.m. EDT/PDT), has added more names to its star-studded lineup. Jason Bateman, Beth Behrs, Julie Bowen, Josh Brolin, Kaley Cuoco, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Max Greenfield, Jon Hamm, Mark Harmon, Sarah Hyland, Adam Klein, Tyler Labine, Diego Luna, Sonequa Martin-Green, Dave Price, Keanu Reeves, Tracee Ellis Ross, Winona Ryder, Jimmy Smits, Eric Stonestreet, Alison Sweeney, Bree Turner, Sofia Vergara and Marlon Wayans are coming together in the fight against cancer. They join an extraordinary list of previously announced participants including Mahershala Ali, Kathy Bates, Katie Couric, Jennifer Garner, Tony Hale, Marg Helgenberger, Ed Helms, Ken Jeong, Marlee Matlin, Matthew McConaughey, Maria Menounos, Jillian Michaels, Trevor Noah, Dak Prescott, Italia Ricci, Rob Riggle, Karla Souza, David Spade and Keith Urban. The telecast will feature three musical performances, one by 25-time GRAMMY Award winner and activist Stevie Wonder, one by GRAMMY-winning and six-time reigning CMA Country Vocal Group Little Big Town, as well as one by 11-time GRAMMY nominee and cancer survivor Charlie Wilson.

Directed by Seinfeld's Jason Alexander, this surprisingly topical tale of neighbors fighting over their shared fence features Frances Fisher as Virginia Butley (wife to Bruce's Frank Butley), with Christian Barillas and Jessica Meraz as Pablo and Tania Del Valle, the newbie couple on the block.

Marketplace Host Kai Ryssdal Named Chair Of LA Children's Chorus Board Of Directors

Los Angeles Children's Chorus (LACC), considered among the world's preeminent children's choirs and noted for its striking bel canto sound and wide-ranging repertoire, has named Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist Kai Ryssdal Chair of the Board of Directors, announced LACC Interim Executive Director Tom Wheatley. He succeeds Cheryl Scheidemantle, who assumes the role of Immediate Past Chair. Ryssdal, active on LACC's Board since 2014, is the host and senior editor of the public radio show Marketplace, the most widely heard program on business and the economy - radio or television, commercial or public broadcasting - in the country.

American Horror Story Reveals 8th Season Theme, APOCALYPSE

Today, the American Horror Story social media accounts shared a new image revealing the highly-anticipated theme for the eighth season. The upcoming season has been confirmed to be a crossover between Murder House (season 1) and Coven (season 3). Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, and newcomer Joan Collins are all set to star in the upcoming season.
