What does it mean to be male in our hyper-gendered society? Simpatico Theatre Company, a professional theatre company in Philadelphia, kicks off their season with Simpatico Theatre Projectx: 4Solo, four solo performances in rep that explore the spectrum of maleness in America. The production will be part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival and will run September 19-30, 2018. These solo performances work together to explore the repercussions and revelations of our hyper gendered society. These are true stories of tap dancing, Titanic, Bjork, and broken hearts and include:

This fall, THIRTEEN's Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series Nature returns to PBS for its 37 th season, presenting new episodes Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on PBS beginning October 24 (check local listings) with Super Cats, A Nature Miniseries, which introduces wild cat behavior captured on film for the first time.

Jennifer Westfeldt ('Younger,' 'Friends with Kids') and Victoria Justice ('Victorious,' 'Eye Candy') have been tapped for the freshman season of the forthcoming scripted series 'Queen America' on Facebook Watch, Facebook's new video platform. Westfeldt's status is as a recurring guest star with Justice attached to the project for dual-episodes. This new series stars Oscar and Tony award-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones (Vicki Ellis). 'Queen America' is created, written, and executive produced by Meaghan Oppenheimer ('Fear the Walking Dead'). Westfeldt and Justice join previously announced series regulars Belle Shouse, Teagle F. Bougere, Rana Roy, Isabella Amara, Molly Price and Megan West.

Julia Garner ('Ozark') and Juno Temple ('Vinyl,' 'Wonder Wheel,' 'Black Mass') have joined the cast of Bravo Media's 'Dirty John' as the daughters of Debra Newell (Connie Britton), who are both skeptical about their mother's relationship with John Meehan (Eric Bana). Joining the previously announced Jean Smart who will play Debra's mother Arlane, Garner will star as Terra Newell, while Temple will star as Veronica Newell. The scripted anthology series, based on the articles and breakout true crime podcast of the same name from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard, tells the true story of how Debra's romance with the charismatic John Meehan spiraled into secrets, denial and manipulation.

Theatre Company Cardboard Citizens Announces New Movement to Help End Homelessness

Award-winning theatre company Cardboard Citizens has today announced Citizens Do, a grass-roots movement which aims to engage and empower everyday citizens to help tackle homelessness. The campaign has been gaining momentum over the past three months as Cardboard Citizens toured the UK with Cathy, working with audience members to collate suggestions on how the public can help people with experience of homelessness. Over 1000 people so far have signed up for the movement and Cardboard Citizens is now calling on the general public to sign up by Wednesday 23 May at www.citizensdo.com or share their actions using #CitizensDo.
Female Riders Claim the Podium in the Race Against the Clock, the Longines Speed Challenge

Day two of the Longines Masters of New York featured a full day of action-packed competition, culminating with the Longines Speed Challenge, regarded as the fastest show jumping class in the world. Leading into the Friday night competition, Longines Ambassador of Elegance and Co-founder of The Golden Hat Foundation Kate Winslet met local New York children with Autism and accepted a check on behalf of The Golden Hat Foundation, the Longines Masters of New York official nonprofit partner. The Longines Masters of New York also honored Long Island military this evening with a procession by the Marine Corps color guard and mounted police, and EEM received an official citation issued by Nassau County officials, welcoming the Longines Masters Series to New York.

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival announced today that Saoirse Ronan will receive their prestigious Santa Barbara Award, presented by UGG, for her critically acclaimed role in Greta Gerwig's Lady Bird, an A24 release. Given to a person in the entertainment industry who has made a great contribution to film, the award will be presented to her at a ceremony on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the historic Arlington Theatre.
