The Willard Suitcases, a new musical by Julianne Wick Davis, makes its world premiere debut at the American Shakespeare Center on October 4, directed by Ethan McSweeny and featuring Nancy Anderson (Wonderful Town Broadway, Kiss Me Kate West End). Inspired by Jon Crispin's photographs of suitcases discovered abandoned in the derelict Willard Asylum, Davis' song-cycle imagines the lives of the patients who packed those bags.

Casting has been announced for the Menier Chocolate Factory's major revival of Sandy Wilson's The Boy Friend, directed by Matthew White and choreographed by Bill Deamer.

With The Bridges of Madison County currently running at the Menier and Fiddler on the Roof playing at the Playhouse Theatre, the Menier Chocolate Factory today announces a major revival of Sandy Wilson's The Boy Friend running at the theatre over Christmas, directed by Matthew White. The production opens on 3 December, with previews from 22 November, and runs until 7 March 2020. Booking opens for supporters of the Menier today a?" 30 August, with public booking on 9 September at 9am.

Studio Tenn is set to close their bold ninth season with the spectacular Old Testament tale, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, at the Jamison Theater from May 17 - June 2.

Abramorama and Verisimilitudeannounced today an agreement that will see Abramorama release the documentary film The Public Image Is Rotten in theaters around the world in 2018. The Public Image Is Rotten tells the story of music icon John Lydon and his pioneering group PiL with a level of depth and intimacy never before seen.  Directed by Tabbert Fiiller, The Public Image Is Rotten features in-depth interviews with John Lydon, former and current bandmates as well as Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Ad-Rock (Beastie Boys) and Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) among others, the film is loaded with electrifying archival performance and interview footage. The film will open in the United Kingdom beginning with a screening on June 3, 2018, at the Odeon Camden Cinema and will feature a conversation with John Lydon after the screening. Additional screenings in the U.K. during June and July to be announced followed later this fall with the global roll out of the film alongside Public Image Ltd's worldwide tour.
