Tarragon Theatre presents TheatreRUN's The Double, an hilarious and innovative adaptation of the Fyodor Dostoevsky novella of the same name, created and performed by TheatreRUN Artistic Director Adam Paolozza (who also directs), Arif Mirabdolbaghi (bass-player and lyricist of the award-winning Canadian progressive metal band, Protest The Hero) and international actorViktor Lukawski. A dark comedy about our deepest fears of losing our identity, The Double opens October 23 and runs to November 24 (previews from October 15) in Tarragon's Extraspace.
Kate Taylor Davis Named First Director of Anacostia Arts Center

The Anacostia Arts Center, a project of ARCH Development Corporation, has its first director. Kate Taylor Davis joined the ARCH team in late May to launch and lead the new facility, which began hosting events in April.

This new release from Dog Ear Publishing tells the tale of Ellie Johnson, who has been hired to tend her neighbor's garden for the summer. The job sounds easy, and maybe even a little boring, but when she arrives at Evelyn Wilson's house, Ellie's shocked to learn that Evelyn doesn't seem to know who she is or what she's doing there. Ellie has seen Evelyn at church weekly for most of her life, but she soon learns Evelyn is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's Disease and has trouble remembering close family members, let alone a little girl she saw once or twice a week.

Moved to action by the troubles facing Haiti's orphaned and injured children after January's devastating earthquake, BB KING BLUES CLUB and THE PATH FUND have joined forces and will be donating 100% of the proceeds of this special benefit concert to UNICEF and Save the Children, organizations working in Haiti to provide safe havens for the thousands of children left homeless by the earthquake.
