Horse Trade Theater Group Presents WHEN HALF THE SPHERE IS VISIBLE, 5/10-26

Horse Trade Theater Group will present their resident acting ensemble, The Drafts in the World Premiere of when half the sphere is visible, written by Jesse Cameron Alick (Artistic Director of Subjective Theatre Company; Artistic Associate at The Public), Matthew Gutschick (Rubber Doves, winner of the New Horizons Playwrighting Competition), Michael McGuire (Sometimes I Feel Like I Missed the Train at The Lark Play Development Center), and Germono Toussaint (Caged at the 2006 Not for Broadway Theater Festival; The Anointed at The 2010 Fire This Time Festival), May 10-26 at The Red Room (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery). The production will be directed by Ilaria Amadasi,Jaclyn Biskup (Assistant Director, Love's Labour's Lost at The Public), Lindsey Moore (No Tea Productions), Sara Walsh, and Donya Washington (Now the Cats with Jeweled Claws with Target Margin Theatre).

The Public Theater announced today that Tituss Burgess, John Ellison Conlee, Lili Cooper, Matt Doyle, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Greg Hildreth, Eli James, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Justin Levine, Norm Lewis, Betsy Morgan, Jessica Phillips, Bobby Steggert, and Katie Thompson will join the star-studded PUBLIC SINGS! benefit on Monday, March 5 at Joe's Pub. Playmarket Announces Cash Prize For Adam New Zealand Play Award

This is the third year of Playmarket's annual award, open to any new unproduced New Zealand play. They have announced that thanks to the generosity of the Adam Foundation, they are now able to offer a cash prize of $5000 to the winner, along with a professional public reading of one of the shortlisted plays at Circa Theatre, produced by Circa and Playmarket; followed by a celebratory function! The award, previously the Playmarket New Play Award, will now be known as the Adam New Zealand Play Award.
