This was a busy weekend for award-winnig composer/lyricist/playwright/pianist/author Andrew Gerle as he celebrated not one, but two new books.

Andrew Gerle may be one of the most talented and promising composers/writers for the theatre today that you've never heard of. He launches the new year with an incredible lineup of projects on the horizon: a musical, a play, a new book, a star-studded revue, a concert reading at City Opera featuring an 80-piece orchestra, a recital performance of his work at London's Wigmore Hall, and the first-ever published volume of his songs.

Rick Hilsabeck (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Kate Fisher (Les Mis), and Scott Barnhardt (Big River), will read 'I Love You Madam President' for this year's New York Musical Theatre Festival. The show also features the talents of Jerry Coyle (Room Service), Ric Ryder (Blood Brothers), Christine Rowan and Elizabeth Polito (Beauty and the Beast) and is stage managed by Jessica Balvanz.

It isn't everyday that a touring company exceeds an original Broadway cast in performance value, but in this case, Little Women was stronger, more enjoyable and engaging than it's original. The story is a timeless coming-of-age tale for theatre-goers of all ages.

The musical incarnation of Louisa May Alcott's novel arrived at the Cadillac Palace Theatre Tuesday night.
