Die Sommerpause ist beendet und bald geht es auch auf der Bühne wieder los! Am 29. August startet die Komischen Oper Berlin mit der Premiere von George Enescus Œdipe in die letzte Spielzeit der Intendanz von Barrie Kosky. Am 5. September ist zudem wieder der gefeierte Kurt-Weill-Liederabend Lonely House zu erleben, mit Eine Frau, die weiß, was sie will! folgt am 10. September die erste Wiederaufnahme. Der Vorverkauf für die Vorstellungen bis Ende September beginnt am Sonntag, 15. August um 11 Uhr.

Los Angeles Opera’s Modulation, presented in collaboration with the Prototype Festival, adapts opera and theater to a new interactive format. The voices of extraordinary artists show us the irrepressible power of music to provide comfort and instigate contemplation of ourselves, our art, our world. Access to Modulation, available January 8–16, 2021, costs $25 per viewing household. Access will enable you to enjoy Modulation for one week.

This week's opera performances--Teatro Nuova's LA STRANIERA by Bellini and Mostly Mozart's MAGIC FLUTE--proved that opera can be considered alive and well (and living in New York), as long as those producing it believe in it and give us some voices worth hearing.
