The New York Philharmonic announces Fun at the Phil: Sleepover at the Museum, its first-ever family benefit for children, March 7, 2020. The event will honor Board Member Karen LeFrak for her dedication to the Philharmonic; proceeds will go toward Philharmonic education programs. The concert will feature a new multimedia orchestral work by Karen LeFrak based on her children's book, Sleepover at the Museum, with illustrations by David Bucs, as well as Saint-Saens's The Carnival of the Animals.

Alan Gilbert Heads from NYC to Shanghai, Set for Santa Fe Residency & More This Summer

Alan Gilbert -- recently recognized with a Foreign Policy Association Medal for his extraordinary commitment to cultural diplomacy -- completes his sixth season at the helm of the New York Philharmonic with this week's U.S. premiere of director Côme de Bellescize's staging of Joan of Arc at the Stake, which stars Academy Award-winner Marion Cotillard (June 10–13). Next, he and the orchestra toast the summer with a trio of free concerts under the stars to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Philharmonic's historic Concerts in the Parks (June 17–24), using the same program as the centerpiece of their upcoming residencies at Colorado's Bravo! Vail (July 24–31), Santa Barbara's Music Academy of the West (Aug 1–8), and in Shanghai, China (July 4–10). Gilbert also makes his Mostly Mozart debut, leading the American stage premiere of George Benjamin's Written on Skin (Aug 11–15), and crowns an artistic residency at the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival with an account of Messiaen's epic and otherworldly Des canyons aux étoiles (Aug 23).

World's largest dance network and international student ballet scholarship audition - YOUTH AMERICA GRAND PRIX – will present its signature “Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow” annual Gala at the David H. Koch Theater, Lincoln Center. The Gala will feature the finalists of the international ballet competition performing alongside today's most celebrated ballet stars – many of whom are alumni of YAGP.

CHICAGO - The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago presents four World Premieres in the fifth annual "Winning Works" program, the culmination of the 2015 Choreographers of Color Awards. Three of the new works come from this year's Award winners Jennifer Archibald, Abdul Latif and Stephanie Martinez. The fourth piece is a new workby Joffrey Academy Artistic Director Alexei Kremnev called Windy Sand with original music by Karen LeFrak. All four works are performed by dancers from the Joffrey Studio Company and the Joffrey Academy Trainee Program. The Joffrey Academy of Dance's "Winning Works" program is presented at a new venue in 2015, the Edlis Neeson Theater at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, 220 E. Chicago Avenue, over three performances: today, March 7 at 3 pm and 7:30 pm and Sunday, March 8 at 3 pm.

Shanghai Orchestra Academy Opens Inaugural Year
