Comedy Central to Release Myq Kaplan's MEAT ROBOT Digital Album, 6/11

Showcasing his wickedly smart and witty brand of humor, Kaplan's “Meat Robot” is the comedian's newest fast-paced, mind-melting and side-splitting stand-up comedy album. Kaplan delves into his grandmother's attempts to make grammar fun, how to avoid being axe-murdered and his love for fake meat names. Other topics include “Open Relationships and Tigers,” “Chuck Norris and Owls,” and “Super Mario and Will Smith.”

ShPIeL-Performing Identity proudly announces the North Shore theatrical premiere of The Invasion of Skokie, by Steven Peterson and directed by Rachel Edwards Harvith at the theatre in the Mayer Kaplan JCC of the Jewish Community Center of Chicago, 5050 Church Street in Skokie, IL. Previews are Wednesday, May 22, Thursday, May 23 and Saturday, May 25 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 26 at 2 p.m. Opening/press night is Wednesday, May 29 at 7 p.m. The regular performance schedule continues Thursdays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 and 7 p.m. through June 23. PIPPIN's Molly Tynes & More Set for HALF HOUR 3 Concert at Laurie Beechman Theatre, 6/2

On June 2nd at 7:30pm, BroadwayUnderstudies.com has once again invited some of Broadway's most talented understudies to the stage of the Laurie Beechman Theatre to share their rare talent-the ability to perform at a second's notice. They'll be thrown into the fire in 'Half Hour 3: A Last Minute Concert,' a show where even they don't know what they'll be singing before they step up to the microphone. The audience will get to vote on what song each performer will sing.

Lindsay Mendez is WICKED's New Elphaba, Beginning Today

Beginning performances today, May 28, 2013, Lindsay Mendez will assume the role of Elphaba in the Broadway production of WICKED. Ms. Mendez has previously worked with both the composer and director of WICKED, having appeared in the 2011 Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's Godspell, and, more recently, giving a breakout performance in the world premiere musical, Dogfight, staged by WICKED director Joe Mantello.

SILENCE! THE MUSICAL to Play Extra Holiday Show Today

SILENCE! THE MUSICAL will play a special added holiday performance today at the Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square. The show, which normally plays at 5 PM on Sundays, will have two performances today at 2 & 7 PM. Winner of the 2012 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical, SILENCE! is the unauthorized parody of THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, with book byHunter Bell, music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and direction & choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli. CA Chief Justice Gives Address on Current State of Judiciary, 6/4

The Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA), in association with the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation and the Law Guild of Beverly Hills, hosts the 59th Annual Supreme Court Luncheon honoring the California Supreme Court on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, 11:30 a.m., at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye is attending and is providing remarks on the current state of the Judiciary. This is her third appearance at the BHBA's perennial luncheon since becoming Chief Justice in 2011. Unlike previous years, the Supreme Court Associate Justices will not be in attendance. Due to fiscal constraints caused by the state's budget cuts, this year the Court is not holding its usual June oral argument session in Los Angeles, around which the BHBA Supreme Court Luncheon has always been slated, but, instead, will remain in San Francisco, where the court normally convenes.

Shanghai Ballet to Make UK Debut with JANE EYRE, Aug 14-18

Shanghai Ballet Company is to make its highly anticipated UK debut in August at the London Coliseum with performances of JANE EYRE, an original, innovative ballet production based on Charlotte Brontë's famous novel. Performances will run August 14th-18th, choreographed by Patrick de Bana.

Over 50 Artists Set for WAM and MopCo's 24HR THEATRE PROJECT Today

For the third year in a row, WAM Theatre and The Mop & Bucket Improv Company (MopCo) will bring together over 50 theatre artists from the Berkshire and Capital Region areas to produce the 24hr Theatre Project. Together, these artists will mount five short works; all written, rehearsed, and performed in 24 hours. The 3rd Annual 24hr Berkshires/Capital Region Theatre is hosted by Proctors Theatre in Schenectady, NY, with a public performance taking place tonight, May 18 at 8pm.
