Sierra Rep Stages OKLAHOMA! at Fallon House, Now thru 8/18

Oklahoma! - Rodgers & Hammerstein's first masterpiece - sweeps onto the Fallon House stage this summer. Sierra Repertory Theatre presents an outstanding cast in this finely crafted classic, a celebration of the American spirit of courage, independence and feisty good fun. It plays at the Fallon House theatre in Columbia State Historic Park from today, June 28 through August 18.

MAD to Present BODY & SOUL: NEW INTERNATIONAL CERAMICS, Begin. 9/24

The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) will present Body & Soul: New International Ceramics, an exhibition featuring the work of 24 international ceramic artists addressing critical social and political issues through figurative sculpture. By way of clay, the figure becomes a catalyst for exploring the impact of contemporary pressures confronting societies today. Body & Soul will offer visitors a rare opportunity to experience a diverse range of ceramic artistry and expression. The exhibition will be on view at MAD September 24, 2013 – March 2, 2014.

The 2013 Dora Awards took place in Toronto on Monday June 25th at The St Lawrence Centre for the Arts. To accommodate demand, the Bluma theatre was also opened up for guests and the awards were live-streamed via 'Doratron'. As in previous years, there was a glamorous VIP ceremony pre-show followed by a post show street party that closed down Front Street. A record number of Doras were given out, with Young People's Theatre's CINDERELLA the runaway hit of the evening with seven awards. BWW is thrilled readers photos from the evening.

The Delaware Theatre Company (DTC) is proud to announce an evening of Broadway Magic with Tony Award Winning Actress Donna McKechnie and Tony Award Nominated Actor Malcolm Gets. Featuring their favorite Broadway show tunes, Ms. McKechnie and Mr. Gets will guide the audience through individual stories from their days in the chorus into the present.

The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum Announces Modern Nature Exhibition, 10/4

The Hyde Collection, in association with the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, is organizing a first-of-its kind exhibition that will closely examine the body of work created by O'Keeffe of and at Lake George, New York. The exhibition opens in Santa Fe on October 4, 2013 and will be on view through January 2014.

Lincoln Center Announces 2013 White Light Festival Lineup, 10/24-11/23

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced the roster for Lincoln Center's fourth multidisciplinary White Light Festival, October 24 through November 23, 2013. The Festival's focus is music's capacity to illuminate the many dimensions of our interior lives, with a particular emphasis this year on the power of the voice. Spanning numerous musical traditions, genres, and disciplines, the Festival will offer 23 performances, films, and events featuring seven premieres and debuts by artists and companies from more than a dozen countries, including France, India, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, the U.K., Mali, Estonia, Italy, Austria, Canada and the U.S. New to this edition of the Festival is White Light on Film, film screenings followed by discussions with their directors. Other Festival components include: a panel discussion focused on the subject of time, pre- and post-performance artist discussions, and the popular post-performance White Light Lounges.

Hunger and Thirst Theatre Collective to Stage Hipster Production of Molière's THE MISANTHROPE, 7/26

Hand-written missives become ever-chiming texts and lacy corsets pair with flannel shirts in Hunger and Thirst Theatre Collective's production of Moliere's THE MISANTHROPE, mixing 17th-century French aristocratic society with today's Brooklyn hipsters to illuminate the backstabbing politics of social circles that exist in every culture and generation. The classic comedy concerns Alceste, whom although he feels it is his duty to call out the superficiality and stupidity he sees before him, is head over heels for the much sought after Celimene, a frivolous flirt that embodies everything he claims to despise.

Boulder Theater and Fox Theatre Partner with CITYPAK and High Sierra To Distribute 1000 Backpacks, 8/30

On Friday, August 30 at 10:00 a.m. CITYPAK, led by founder Ron Kaplan, co-founder of international music booking agency Monterey International, and international adventure travel gear specialist High Sierra - with the help of local music industry leaders AEG Live Rocky Mountains, Madison House Inc., Fox Theatre, and Boulder Theater - will distribute 1000 CITYPAK backpacks at The Resource Center (1603 Walnut St. in Boulder), in partnership with the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, to those in need.
