Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo to Star in New ABC Sitcom?

A new sitcom starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo might be headed to ABC in the near future. According to PerezHilton.com, this sitcom (previously mentioned on BWW) now has a script commitment from ABC network and ABC Studios for such a show with the National Lampoon's Vacation stars attached. With a script by Brad Copeland, the show is from producer Aaron Kaplan. The unnamed work centers around Chase and D'Angelo as a married couple who suddenly have the task of raising their grandchildren by themselves.

'WEDDING BAND' to Run 10/18-12/7 at Antaeus

In the summer of 1918, as the Great War rages in Europe, two individuals wage their own battle against injustice in America, risking their lives for the right to marry. Winding up the 2014 Antaeus season of modern classics, Gregg T. Daniel directs a fully partner-cast revival of Wedding Band: A Love/Hate Story in Black and White by Alice Childress. Wedding Band runs Oct. 18 through Dec. 7 at the Antaeus Theater in NoHo, with low-priced previews beginning Oct. 9.

Nickelodeon Renews INSTANT MOM for Third Season

Nickelodeon has ordered a 20-episode third season of its hit family comedy Instant Mom for Nick at Nite and NickMom, it was announced today by Russell Hicks, Nickelodeon's President of Content Development and Production. Beginning Oct. 2, season two of Instant Mom will premiere in its new timeslot on Nick at Nite, Thursdays at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). The series also airs during the adult-targeted NickMom nighttime comedy block on the Nick Jr. channel.

Alliance Theatre, Actor's Express, Serenbe's OKLAHOMA! and More Among 2013-14 Suzi Bass Award Nominees; Ceremony Set for 11/3

The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. revealed nominations for the 2013-2014 Atlanta professional theatrical season this evening to theatre patrons and industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by Actor's Express in the King Plow Arts Center of Atlanta. Guest announcers included performers Christy Baggett, Laura Cole, Danielle Deadwyler, and Tess Malis Kincaid.

The White Plains Performing Arts Center play reading series, that features the Tony Award-winners for "Best Play" since the award's creation in 1948, continues with this months' reading of Arthur Miller's Death of Salesman on Friday, September 12 at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $10 each. The Nakd Stage Play Reading Series features actors with scripts in hand, no sets, costumes or props. It's all about the words.

The Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street, NYC) box office opens today, Friday, September 5 at 10 a.m., for tickets to Bernard Pomerance's Tony Award-winning play THE ELEPHANT MAN. The cast of the Tony Award-winning musical NEWSIES took their excited final bows at the Nederlander Theatre today to uproarious applause from a packed audience. NEWSIES featured a Tony Award-winning score with music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Jack Feldman, with a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, NEWSIES was directed by Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, who won a 2012 Tony Award for his work. NEWSIES enjoyed almost two and a half years on Broadway.
