Public Works' THE WINTER'S TALE, Featuring Lindsay Mendez & Christopher Fitzgerald, Begins 9/5

The Public Theater will begin free performances for the community-based Public Works production of Shakespeare's THE WINTER'S TALE, conceived and directed by Obie Award winner Lear deBessonet, with music and lyrics by Todd Almond, and choreography by Chase Brock on Friday, September 5. This original musical adaption will run for three nights only through Sunday, September 7 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Free tickets will be distributed, two per person, at 12:00 p.m. on the day of the show at the Delacorte Theater and via the Virtual Ticketing lottery at www.publictheater.org.

BAD JEWS and TIGERS BE STILL Set for Black Lab Theatre's 2015 Season

Black Lab Theatre's shines an endearing and humorous light on family dysfunction with two regional premiere comedies about the difficulties of familial love in the 21st century. The season opens in January 2015 with Kim Rosenstock's Tigers Be Still and then follows with Joshua Harmon's no-holds-barred comedy Bad Jews to be co-produced by Stages Repertory Theatre and the Jewish Community Center of Houston.

Joffrey Ballet Season Features 'Stories in Motion' & Two Repertory Favorites to Celebrate 20th Year, 9/18

CHICAGO (August 11, 2014) – The Joffrey Ballet celebrates its 20th anniversary of calling Chicago home in the 2014-15 season. Artistic Director Ashley Wheater opens the season with “Stories in Motion,” a special one-weekend-only addition to the Joffrey's usual three-program subscription season. This program, exploring the concept of “story ballet” with works that each tell a story in a freshly conceived way, features the return of two Joffrey repertory favorites, George Balanchine's Prodigal Son and Antony Tudor's Lilac Garden, along with the Joffrey/Chicago Premiere of Yuri Possokhov's Asian-themed RAkU. The Joffrey presents “Stories in Motion” in five performances only at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, 50 East Congress Parkway,September 18 – 21.

Rover Dramawerks' 15th Season to Include 24-Hour Play Festivals and More

Rover Dramawerks has announced their Fifteen Season of plays "off the beaten path." The fact that this will be their first full season in their new theatre venue makes this milestone anniversary even more special. Rover will present seven plays and two One Day Only 24-hour play festivals, starting with The Fourth Wall, by A. R. Gurney, directed by Andi Allen, running October 23 - November 15, 2014.

Rose Art Museum Welcomes New Board of Directors

The Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University has named 15 new members to its Board of Advisors and reappointed eight former board members. The unprecedented number of appointments, which follow the recruitment of Christopher Bedford as the Henry and Lois Foster Director of the Rose in 2012 and the naming of Lizbeth Krupp as chair of the board of advisors last fall, are another important step in a new era in the museum's history.
