Telly Leung and Billy Bustamante will present a special evening SHOW/SWAP - featuring cast members from the casts of Miss Saigon and Aladdin on Broadway - on Sunday, August 20 at 8:00 PM.

Tony and Grammy award-nominated Michael McElroy and Broadway Inspirational Voices (BIV) released the eleventh video in their 'Broadway Our Way' series today, June 1st, featuring "Defying Gravity" from the hugely popular musical WICKED, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (multi-award winner, including Academy, Grammy, and Golden Globe Awards, as well as the Isabelle Stephenson Award). It's official! As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this year, Disney's Aladdin, the hit Broadway musical, will welcome Broadway vet Telly Leung as the title character beginning Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano. 

"Spamilton," the critically acclaimed off-Broadway parody of Lin-Manuel Miranda's sensation, "Hamilton," begins previews tonight at the Royal George Theater (1641 N. Halsted).

DRG Records (Hugh Fordin, President) and Spamilton producers John Freedson, Christine Pedi, David Zippel, and Gerard Alessandrini announced that the Original Cast Recording of Spamilton, the critically acclaimed parody of Broadway smash Hamilton, by Forbidden Broadway creator Gerard Alessandrini, will be released on DRG Records tomorrow, March 3rd, 2017.

I had the pleasure of attending the 7th Annual Clive Barnes Awards on January 9, 2017 at the Walter Reade Theater of Lincoln Center. Last year, I also attended this ceremony, which supports artists from both the theater and dance worlds through financial gifts and accolades in memory of the indefatigable Mr. Barnes. Interestingly enough, I believe that having the privilege to be there again allowed me to see how much this foundation impacts the nominees and the winners.

The Clive Barnes Foundation announced today, Monday, January 9, 2017, that Khris Davis (The Royale) has won the Seventh Annual Clive Barnes Award for Theater and that Indiana Woodward (New York City Ballet) has won the Seventh Annual Clive Barnes Award for Dance.

DRG Records and Spamilton producers John Freedson, Christine Pedi and David Zippel announced that last night the cast of Spamilton, the critically acclaimed parody of Broadway smash Hamilton, by Forbidden Broadway creator Gerard Alessandrini, completed recording of the Original Cast album, which will be released on DRG Records in March 2017. The Clive Barnes Foundation has announced the nominees for the seventh annual Clive Barnes Awards. 

Philadelphia Theatre Company will soon present the freshly reconceived new musical comedy Found, with a book by Hunter Bell and Lee Overtree and music and original lyrics by Eli Bolin, which will play from November 9 through December 11, 2016 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre.

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then parody is a regular old kiss on the lips to any masterpiece. And that's what Spamilton is to Hamilton, a big fat kiss on the lips. And it takes an awfully talented bunch to pull off a loving lampoon of Broadway's biggest hit. We recently welcomed that awfully talented bunch to Broadway Sessions. The Spamilton cast brought the funny, the fierce and the in your face. And don't you worry none, they paid great homage to Hamilton with beautiful renditions of Dear Theodosia, Satisfied and Burn.
