National Alliance for Musical Theatre (Betsy King Militello, Executive Director) is thrilled to announce the line-up of directors and initial casting for the 29th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which takes place on Thursday, October 19 and Friday, October 20, 2017 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). The Festival kicks off on Wednesday, October 18 with its celebrated concert, The 46th Minute.
On August 20, the casts of Broadway's Aladdin and Miss Saigon came together to swap songs, sing show tunes, and raise money for a friend in need. The show entitled Show/Swap was presented by Telly Leung and Billy Bustamante, and featured hits from Miss Saigon, Aladdin, Les Miserables, Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid, and more.
Eva Noblezada, Carol Angeli, Emily Bautista, Steel Burkhardt, Billy Bustamante, Graham Scott Flemming, Gaby Gamache, Dan Horn, Lina Lee, Dorcas Leung, Paul Miller, Robert ?P?endilla, Ariel Reid, Liana St. Ana, Kimmy Truong, Travis Ward-Osborne and Paige Williams have been added to the cast of the special evening SHOW/SWAP.

BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano.

I had the pleasure of attending the 7th Annual Clive Barnes Awards on January 9, 2017 at the Walter Reade Theater of Lincoln Center. Last year, I also attended this ceremony, which supports artists from both the theater and dance worlds through financial gifts and accolades in memory of the indefatigable Mr. Barnes. Interestingly enough, I believe that having the privilege to be there again allowed me to see how much this foundation impacts the nominees and the winners.
