The theme this season is the contrasts of the choreography, and the program covers a wide range of both classic steps from the golden age of ballet and fresh works for all dance-loving souls. The old meets the new, and the classic meets the modern.

Current Phantom of the Opera star Ben Crawford will be out of the show for the final Broadway performance. Longtime Phantom Laid Mackintosh will step into the role this evening.

The longest-running Broadway show of all time, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA will play its final New York performance at The Majestic Theatre today, Sunday, April 16 at 5PM, after a record-breaking 35 years and 13,981 performances to 20 million people. The Fisher Center at Bard and its renowned annual Bard SummerScape festival both celebrate their 20th anniversaries this year. “A hotbed of intellectual and aesthetic adventure” (New York Times), SummerScape returns to New York's Hudson Valley this summer with seven weeks of live music, opera, music-theater, and more, in the Frank Gehry-designed Fisher Center and other venues on the idyllic Bard College campus (June 23–Aug 13).

New York City Ballet has announced that three of the Company's corps de ballet members -- Olivia MacKinnon, Alexa Maxwell, and KJ Takahashi -- have been promoted to the rank of Soloist.
