THEATER at Downtown Urban Arts Festival (DUAF) has announced the finalists for its 15th Anniversary season to run at the Cherry Lane Theatre and Joe's Pub at The Public Theater during spring 2017. The finalists were selected from over 100 submissions from some of the nation's most talented emerging playwrights. THEATER is produced by Creative Ammo Inc. and Reg E. Gaines, two-time Tony nominee, returns as THEATER's Artistic Director.

Now in its 14th year, the Downtown Urban Arts Festival (DUTF) is becoming New York's premiere winter/spring theatre event showcasing independent theatre artists. The month-long festival, produced by Creative Ammo, Inc., provides writers and performance artists from America's burgeoning multicultural landscape the opportunity to share their stories that interpret our history and our times.

Downtown Urban Theater Festival (DUTF) announced its 14th Annual Season today which will feature 19 productions from March 8 to April 2, 2016. The season includes 17 new theatrical works to be presented at Here's Dorothy B. Williams Theatre and two solo works, Joe Gulla's The Bronx Queen and Ella Turenne's Love, Locs & Liberation, at Joe's Pub at The Public. After ignoring each other for months, two lonely senior citizens finally speak and become acquainted in a city park, opening the door to an unexpected friendship. Thus begins 'Sunny Side' by Philip Paradis, one of six one-act plays to be showcased at Manhattan Repertory Theatre, as part of Manhattan Rep's 10th Anniversary Event Series 5 on July 29 and 31.
