The family here is a captured guerrilla fighter-slash-father, a mourning Abuela, and daughter Arrabal on a quest for closure. Despite sounding overstuffed, the title character's undeveloped journey combined with a vague use of dense themes leads to a performance piece begging to be more.

Mirvish Productions announced today they will host a free event on January 27 at the Toronto Reference Library, where guests will have the chance to meet the cast and creators of Arrabal, a new musical set to make it's world premier in Toronto this February.

For its 50th year, the Mirvish family will present 14 shows in Toronto - its biggest season ever.
